VforVendetta 2,024
by shutting up. we're an embarassment of a fanbase if we carry on talking like this. seriously if youre a fan of her work you shouldnt be concerned of her being successful. if youre the kind who just flocks to whatever that's popular, then you shouldnt be a fan.Sorry but this. Creyk 17,730
This tbh. I hate that idea. Oh we love you but we'd adore you if you have another number 1 hit. What happened to loving someone for who they are? When you're in school you must get A's. When you're in the music industry you must get top ten hits if you want to be pop royalty, or what even, have an impact and change the world. You have to do well in your chosen field of profession. Expecting less is stupid tbh. It's like, if she was a runner and she could only run for half a minutes and then collapse from being exhausted, should we applaud her? No, but encourage her to do better, which was the purpose of this thread too

Maybe her bar is lower then your expectations, that can happen, I think we all still in the dark to what is it she wants to achieve at this moment. But don't be dissapointed because she doesn't meet your expectations. That's why I say: either you need re-evaluate your expectations (let's say you'd hope for her to have 4 mils sales in a month and that didn't happen) or even let them go, or find someone you can be happy with and someone that meets your expectations. giskardsb 12,565
It's like a sportsman. You want to encourage them to run faster and break more records. We don't want her to stagnate. We want her to grow and get better. Growing and Getting better from a musical and artistic sense may actually be the opposite direction of commercial success. So when many say "grow and get better" what they really mean is "slay dem charts and take weaves" from a numbers standpoint, not from a quality of music and art standpoint. At this point musicians have to make a choice: Either dedicate the rest of your life to make derivative songs that remind people of your famous past and slowly let the industry suck your soul; or consider it a victory and move on doing what you love. Gaga is young, and when she reached that point In her career, she didn't quite know what to do, and still today we can see her struggling with the consequences of that important decision. Fortunately, I think she essentially made the right choice. She's obviously using the momentum of her international success to propel her to the 'legendary artist' status. Which means hang out with renown artists, defend your artistic integrity, and show your actual talents instead of the parade of campy pop paraphernalia. She made her choice, and the road she took will land her less #1 hits but will eventually make her one of those iconic legends of music. So have faith in her, and let her do her thing. Pop culture is her b---h. Oh, I'm just visiting-
Dominic 11,922
I find it funny how fans no longer care for the charts ever since Gaga stated she doesn't write for the charts. She clearly does, let's keep it 100%. All Gaga needs to do is to promote more and have better organisation, she is such a messy artist in terms of organisation; let's not put it all down to her label or management either. I think she should also LISTEN to the fans more. Whilst I agree she should ultimately make her own decisions she does need to take into consideration other people's thoughts and opinions. We may not be artists but we aren't useless either. Her fans need to also stop being so hateful and brutal against other artists however, sometimes the fanbase is what gives Gaga such a bad name and leaves a sour taste in the GP's mouths. The hardest thing in this world is to live in it
lazygaga 60
Anyone who thinks gaga doesn't care about the charts is pretty delusional, why would she link us to watch applause over and over in a loop, why would she tweet like crazy every time her album goes number 1 or a single goes number 1?? This whole I do it for the music not the charts would never have happened if applause went number 1 or ARTPOP sold 10 million copies. Now that her music isn't performing as well as before, she suddenly starts having LM.com meltdowns. Coincidence? I think not
