Typically it's the non-pop albums that receive Noms without commercial success because they're not expected to sell that much in the first place.

As a mainstream pop album, the fact that it might not even sell 1 million copies is a huge disadvantage in comparison to the competition. ARTPOP won't receive a nomination.

ARTPOP won't be nominated in the AOTY category, that's for sure, but I think there's hope for Best Pop Vocal Performance and Best Dance/Electronic Album.

Well, it is still a LADY GAGA album (not a single that happened to Applause) and the Grammy verdicts will surely have it nominated. The Fame, The Fame Monster, and Born this Way- all were nominated. And who could have predicted BTW will even be nominated with all the early criticisms it received? Plus even the weaker single You and I was nominated! It's the GAGA effect on the Grammys. Gaga is a legend for all of them- hard to disregard.

Lady Gaga's ARTPOP will be nominated for Album of the Year, Pop Vocal Album and some more major awards (even if others do not think so). The album will be hard to disregard because of the fact that it is a LADY GAGA album. We have to remember that she already left a mark in the Grammies by having 5 winnings and multiple nominations. And we have to remember that all her albums have been nominated! It is like a rule of thumb that any Lady Gaga album is up to the AOTY nomination. The critics voting for Grammy will definitely have to hear the album and upon hearing the album, they will find it worthy for some major nominations. The album, opening with Aura, will automatically hook these critics, followed by similarly strong plus hypnotic songs Venus and G.U.Y. And as these critics continue listening to the album for a decision, nothing will hinder their thoughts of voting this album for Grammy 2015. Sales wise, the album did good in a general sense (which is a plus factor)! In fact, many AOTY nominees and winners did not even have good sales.

It's getting nominated. Every Gaga album after TF has gotten critism. TFM didn't get as much but it still did. The thing about Gaga is she always gets critism for controversy and no one will say that so they blame it on something else. No one will ever say "ARTPOP offended my religion" so they'll say "over produced". ARTPOP is getting nominated for 3 things. Best electric dance album. AOTY. Best PVA. Face it and stop being negative Not saying she'll win. But she will get nominated.

Some songs from ARTPOP will probably get a nomination too.

I very much agree with you too. Lady Gaga has a standard (a lot higher than most other acts). I just hope judges don't take wrong decision. BTW recieved mixed reviews but still got nominated for 2 awards. ARTPOP clearly deserves Best Pop Vocal Album. And AOTY nom too.

If G.U.Y. : An ARTPOP film isn't AT LEAST nominated for Best Short Form Music Video then I will have lost all hope and respect for the music industry and General Public...
