Sister 9,907
She can do these interesting things with her tour and where she'll be more respected of her artistic vision. Her fans always want to see her vision as she wants it to be seen, not restricted. The future's uncertain and the end is always near.
Ronk 14,510
If I We're Gaga, I Would Have Refused To Perform As Go Not Sacrifice My Artistic Integrity.... Yes, or how about this: Next time she is invited to perform on an MTV event, let MTV go through all it's pre event advertising and promo, then 3 days before the event Gaga tells them, sorry, I'm pulling my performance. However, I will perform the one you banned earlier if you wish ... take it or leave it. Gaga would never be this mean, so it's just me talking. I live outside the space time continuum. Slayer 9,227
So they can filter an entire performance for a few measley grizzly scenes(it's not blood and gore ffs), but they didn't think Miley twerking on Robin Thicke might have needed filtering? Sure. It's none of MTV's business what suits the song or not, that's up to Gaga If MTV felt Miley would bring in the most viewers and decided to focus more on her, then they are completely within their right to orchestrate their own show that way. Gaga just has to accept that as long as she is in the pop music industry, she will have to follow a set of rules and accept that her ideas have to be filtered and modified for certain circumstances. (She might have accepted this already for all we know, but somehow I doubt it.) If she truly wants to become an unfiltered artist, then, like someone said before, she would have to go indie. I think it's becoming more and more apparent that art and pop do NOT always go together. I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!! emiher 2
To MTV and Miley Cyrus I've got two ooh ooh letters for youuuu One of them's "F" and the other one's "U" But seriously, this would've had potential to top her 2009 VMA performance. GaGa and us have been cheated. This is some bull**** Edited January 28, 2014 by emiher
Der Meister 3,000
What does blood have to do with Applause? I dont understand the torture part.
Freddy Krueger 0
Am I the only one who thinks that sounds incredibly boring and pretentious? The VMA performance was simple but it was enjoyable. This one sounds like it's just her in a dress walking and gliding whilst her backup dancers look weird and imagery is in the background... Hell, maybe I'm completely misunderstanding the post but I don't even see a 4 minute performance from that description. That's not the point. No matter which performance is better, MTV denied her to perform her vision.
Donatello 112
What does blood have to do with Applause? I dont understand the torture part. I think the torture part is in some way referencing the pain she felt from being away from fans, not hearing the applause every night, after BTWB's cancellation. Rollercoaster 2
.What does blood have to do with Applause? I dont understand the torture part. It's a commentary of the entertainment industry. Entertainment used to be Hangings, public flogging and execution, and now it's pop music and performance but why? Because of critics reaction? No. Because people stopped applauding and appreciating public torture. When the applause is gone, the subjects of entertainment disappear and the audience moves on. dc1993 1
As other people have stated here - it's just the VMAs. She has her tours for her performances to be 100% Gaga. If she's on MTV, MTV call the shots. The end.

Freddy Krueger 0
A quasi-Paparazzi sequel performance would've been so amazing! :nooo:

Or maybe she could keep trying to change pop music and make it less controlling instead of jumping into a different genre I get what you're saying but I think she's trying to make changes to the pop industry and not succumb to the whims of the suits. JanPianoMusic 730
Why is everybody so pressed? It wouldn't make a lot of sense: an upbeat, empowering, encouraging song being played over some horror-set. What the ****? The only things good about that idea were the changing colours of the dress and the flying. The rest is a mess. You will never please everyone. PaperIz 7,337
I can't believe this. It would have been so cool. MTV sucks. I'm glad they let Miley do her thing, but I love Gaga too. Mess. Human generated art
