sobercool 0
Sounds like a bloody ritual (going from black to white then to red like she did in 2009). Her performance was fine.
Antichrist 9,818
They allowed ****ing Miley Cyrus to twerk on Robin Thicke but not this **** them They did it for a reason lol. Make Miley big, get money.
geopang 4,831
**** MTV. They rigged the whole show to center around Miley because each of them need each other to stay relevant.
Juanjo 1,970
Wow, if this is true, then, MTV can go and suck it. This will backfire, if it hasn't, already.
ryhanna 3,507
Seriously? That's ****ing ridiculous. I can't believe they told Gaga she couldn't do an amazing performance just so they could put more attention on Miley and create a bigger ****storm. That just really, really sucks. I'm so sorry Gaga, that you get treated this way by greedy suits who only care about the money they can make. You don't deserve that at all.
Cameron1012 0
And where was mr Troy her "oh so great manager" in this? He was her manager at that time he should have followed her vision and made sure with MTV this would happen, protect her interest is what he was paid for! Stop yo. A Manager really can't do **** against MTV, what is he gonna do. Go to court to allow her to have her performance? It's MTV we are talking about, they have way more power than Troy Carter had and will probably ever have. They're a huge corporation/entity. They have the last say for THEIR AWARDS SHOW>
TheFame Monster 8,779
We need to tweet her and apologize because it's not her fault
Alchemist 0
Wow.. this made me so ****ing mad. They literally turned down an AMAZING vivid performance like this for some lame ass twerking performance. No words for this except bull****
Jonathanholland 5,255
**** you MTV! This is such a betrayal from their Side! I mean she was good enough to boost up their rates in 2009/2010/2011 but now their paying her dust because of someone as cheap as miley cyrus! The Era would be so much more impressive as this would have happend! I'm sorry for gaga :( Before there was love, there was silence
Donatello 112
I sensed something was seriously off from this era's first performance at the VMAs, and this explains a lot. I'm happy to learn the cliff drop in standards was down to external factors and NOT Gaga. Gaga is still Gaga. No one should've really stanned for this performance in the first place, it was clearly off, more should've been concerned for her, and to think in polls people voted this her best performance ever (did you even watch BTW grammys?). Devastating news, **** MTV, but at the same time, this info allows me to believe in (rather than doubt) ARTPOP's "true beginning" and to be an excited fan once again. It's been a long time
sexy 3,187
Ya'll have got to stop making these allegations that MTV has it out for Gaga, and also saying MTV was on Team Miley. Lady Gaga's original idea seems incredibly amazing and epic, but it seems like it would probably be seen as slightly disturbing to someone, and perhaps even offensive with the inclusion of blood. Twerking vs Bloodiness and Disturbingness..we all know which one is less offensive, and more appropriate for an awards show. And while they let Gaga go with her original performance in 2009, they may have received some complaints, or someone in the inside just may have deemed it way to shocking, etc. This is incredibly publicized awards show, and it seems Gaga's ideas finally reached it's limits. There's no hate towards Gaga, and no pitting between the two. If they really want to sabotage Gaga they wouldn't have allowed her to perform in the first place, so then she wouldn't be able to generate ANY publicity or real promotion for Applause and ARTPOP. So stop with this stupid and completely unnecessary pitting against musicians and everyone's out to get Gaga. This simply is not true. The only person/entity in the entertainment industry that seems to want it out for Gaga is Perez Hilton, and Gaga already addressed him. While, I hate that MTV didn't allow the performance, I completely understand...it's on the level of performance art, in the intensity of it's shock value.IT reminds me of the crazy performance Leigh Bowery did at Woodstock... However, it must be noted, I doubt this was the performance Gaga said she was training for all along. They probably rejected her idea quite early, most likely within a month or two of receiving it... Gaga would be preparing for any performance for months after she broke her hip. Gaga probably had set pieces designed quite early before even handing in the treatment. This is coming from the same station that approved her bloody VMA performance four years prior in 2009... I don't really see the difference. Nick1495 991
I've read all of the pages but I still don't understand what's happened So Gaga had a huge performance planned and everything and MTV wouldn't let her go through with it? That does add up in a way because of the whole "most physically challenging" etc, and the performance had a few costume changes and a dance routine Maybe when Gaga said that people turned on her, and confirmed that it wasn't Interscope, that she was actually talking about MTV? It WAS going to be very "physically challenging".She was going to pull some P!nk acrobatics sh!t!! it would have slayed, but MTV want Miley to steal the show. Man ARTPOP would have gotten so much more attention if she had done this performance. it would have been a true VMAs comeback!!

I don't really see the difference. It's been four years since that performance, and while critics praised and like I said while they allowed it, we don't know how the people who actually who manage and control decisions like this responded to it, and even if they liked it, they may have simply saw this as too disturbing. It's way more logical/plausible than the fantasy wars fans love to create.
