DontDoubtDavid 1,185
Now that Do What U Want has finally peaked on radio and has little to no chance of rebounding, the question is on the table: was Do What U Want a bigger hit than Judas? -Judas peaked higher on the BB100 (#10) than DWUW (#13) -Judas's music video has more views than DWUW's -DWUW has had light years more longevity than Judas -DWUW had more AI than Judas (DWUW: 60.790; Judas: 27. 232 (i think idk)) Was it? (I only did America, because I cba to find the WW numbers) What music video?
Klou 2,414
It took Judas 3 years to reach 940K while it took DWUW to reach the same amount in 2 months. DWUW will likely go on to sell over 1.5 million. It's a very obvious YES... DWUW is miles more successful that Judas.
Bamboo 8
But DWUW does not have a video so how can you compare them based on mv views? That was supposed to be a joke but ok The point of this thread was pretty much that chart positions do not reflect how big a song is
Klou 2,414
It didn't do worse in sales Where are people getting this from? It looks frustrating trying to get people to understand :p
miroe 24
Judas has a very special place in my heart and is in my top 5 gaga songs but DWUW was a bigger hit for the GP.
Zach Monster 0
It's going to outsell Judas' almost 3 year sales this week, and was actually in the Top 15 on radio unlike Judas which failed to get into the Top 30 So yeah
Mills 446
It didn't do worse in sales Where are people getting this from? Exactly. Just because Judas peaked higher doesn't mean it performed better. The time they've been in the charts should already be a clear indicator. DWUW is on its 13th week and it's still within the top 20. The same could never be said towards Judas.
Smooth Criminal 2
That was supposed to be a joke but ok The point of this thread was pretty much that chart positions do not reflect how big a song is Yeah but DWUW never reached its full potential because didn't get a video, which is the 50% of the promo for any song. If it had gotten a video it would've definitely gotten a push. So this comparison between JUDAS & DWUW is invalid.
holy scheisse 21,464
I heard Judas ONCE on the radio. ONCE. The day it leaked. I've heard DWUW several times.
Guest
Bigger in terms of longevity, sales, and definitely public popularity. Peaks don't really count without any kind of longevity or popularity imo. That would be like saying Dope is a bigger hit than Do What U Want because it peaked higher. It might've peaked at #13, but it's been very stable in the Top 15/20 since it's release. Do What U Want was a lot bigger than Judas, and no one should be upset about Do What U Want's peak or call it a "flop" because it wasn't. It did well (especially without a music video) & was a decent-sized hit that was loved by seriously almost everyone. -Judas's music video has more views than DWUW's
ryhanna 3,507
Yes, easily. Why do people think DWUW didn't sell as well as Judas? Judas had like a week of decent sales and completely fell off the map.
Miel 15,009
I heard Judas on the radio a few times, but DWYW much more. I'm actually a bit suprised that DWYW's peak was lower than Judas' #10. 3 points in and ready for more
