Well I don't see Gaga as the most innovative singer and Gaga is more original in my opinion. She doesn't sample 100 songs in one song.

The album has a new sound but is too repetitive in every song.

if you'd listen to some other kanye-albums, you'd know that his thing is sampling old soul-songs,

And sampling is a big part of hip-hop.

There's also many funny-as-**** lines in there

- They be ballin' in the D-League / I be speaking Swag-hili

- This the greatest **** in the club / since «In Da Club»

- I wanna **** you hard on the sink / after that, give you something to drink / step back, can't get spunk on the mink

- Soon as I pull up and park the Benz / we get this b---h shaking like Parkinsons

- She asked me what I wished for on the wishlist / have you ever asked your b---h for other b---hes?

- I just talked to Jesus / he said «what up, Yeezus?» / I said, ****, I'm chillin' / tryin' to stack these millions

- Chasin' love, lot of bittersweet hours lost / eatin' Asian ***, all I need was sweet and sour sauce

- On my bodyguard's back like Prince in the club / she say «can you get my friends in the club?» / I say «can you get my Benz in the club?»

- Bitch I'm back out my coma, waking up on your sofa / when I park my Range Rover, slightly scratch your Corolla / … okay, I smashed your Corolla

- Baby girl, he's a loner / late-night organ donor/ after that, he disown ya

- She got more n*ggas off than Cochran

- It's so packed I might ride around on my bodyguard back like Prince in the club

- What you doing in the club on a Thursday? / she say she only here for her girl birthday / they ordered champagne but still look thirsty / rock Forever 21 but just turned thirty

- Star Wars fur, yeah I'm rockin' Chewbacca / the one Chief Rocka, number one Chief Rocka

If he doesn't win AOTY at the Grammys with this, will I not only expect, but ENDORSE that he storms the stage

It's ****ing amazing. Although I disagree with his personal life, he knows how to write good music and **** with the system. There was a really good article in the Huffington Post about him:

"Kanye West is white America's worst nightmare. Because as much as one may attempt to dismiss him -- by calling him an asshole or classless or deranged or various other adjectives that fill the comment sections of literally every article about him -- you still have to turn on your regularly scheduled late night comedy program and stare him in the face. You can't avoid Kanye. He's made very sure of that."

To me, this is a powerful album because all of the people who are 'scared' of Kanye have to listen to songs like New Slaves and have the reality of racism thrust in their face. Most of America was able to avoid the incredibly smart music of Public Enemy and their ideals in the eighties, but now they can't.

Kanye is very innovative musically, but his message? Too often the tired and overdone contrast (in hip hop) between boosting about being wealthy and powerful and whining about racism and how tough he has it. Nothing that whites haven't been hearing for decades, or that will make the white underclass feel any solidarity with him.
