Jase 13,043
You know, I'm honestly not sure what kind of impact a song about Princess Di will have. It might depend on how culturally/historically specific it turns out to be, because it's been nearly 15 years since her passing, and that means a pretty significant portion of Gaga's audience won't have the sort of intense familiarity/emotional associations with the topic that some of her older fans have. If it turns out to be a single, it will be interesting to see how it's accepted by different demographics. Yup, I agree. But just the thought of this massive, bold, anthemic (which I'm sure will have melancholic undertones) first single about such an iconic woman fills me with so much excitement. I mean, what a hell of a way to kick off an era. Edited May 15, 2012 by Jase
toanythingtaboo 5
I wonder how explicit the song about Diana will be? I mean, for all we know it could be very detached and only have a semi-obvious reference, but she just told the interviewer the meaning. That's usually how she does it. Miel 15,009
Yeah, I just don't see her going darker image-wise. If anything, I think she'll lighten up with her next era. She wasn't necessarily "gothic" this era, but she was seen as a very dark/negative figure almost despite her positive message. Image wise, I think we're all ready for a lighter, more vibrant image (which we all thought would be for a majority of BTW :haha: ). As for the music basis, I actually wouldn't mind if it got thematically (and sonically) darker. 3 points in and ready for more
saltface 177
I honestly wish she would go as dark as she dares. DarkGa>>>>> I hope she also has videos/themes that are like "weirdly s-xual" (such as the Alejandro video). An album of DarkSexGa would be :flutter:

Emvee 7,796
I was listening to In The Zone today and the it hit me... featuring Britney would make A LOT of sense in terms of the concept of this album. She was the blonde pop icon of our generation that crashed hard. The media world practically destroyed the image that was 'Miss American dream.' I'm definitely here for this collab now. ryhanna 3,507
I like the idea of the album being lyrically and themeatically dark, mirrored with lighter music. Light and happy on the outside, dark and twisted on the inside. I'm pretty sure someone said something similar earlier, but it does reflect the whole "decay of an icon" theme imo. Similar to Paparazzi? That's a happy song whose meaning is kind of twisted, specially with the performances. I like it.
