It's not only Christmas songs invading the radio that proves a problem, it's end of year round ups where they bring back all the big tracks of 2012.

Not the ideal time to release music, but a new Gaga single would be one of the few exceptions I feel.

Exactly. I think lead singles (especially Gaga's) would have the potential to overcome this.

I think that may have been why should told those fans that she thinks all lead singles do pretty well. She may be planning a November/December release.

But I'm really hoping for September/October. It's fits more into my perfect timeline for the album tbh

If she releases the single by early November, she'll still have up to a month before it all kicks in anyway. That's more than enough time to have a few weeks at #1 and then chill in the top 10 for a few more. Radio won't just abandon her single, she'll be one of the bunch they keep on rotation to remain current amongst the Christmas and best-of-2012 songs. It's also good to be on the Christmas and New Years party playlists.

Plus, the benefit is also that when the year ends, her song will be amongst those that surge back up the charts to fill the void left by Christmas music. BR actually went back to #1 because of that in the UK.

I think the ARTPOP concept won't be directly related to the music like her past albums. I think the album will have pop songs but they wont necessarily have to be as meaningful as Gaga's past songs. I think the concept will be feeding off the way its presented. Like the tour and performances will be very theatrical and Artsy.

There's a facebook page that i'm subscribed to abd it's named Mary Janes Holland, a lot of people say that it's Lady Gaga, and she has been posting pictures, that i guess, she didn't upload to other websites, and she just posted this:

Soy princesa of your heart. (i am princess of your heart). Since she said that she's practicing spanish for the latinamerican leg i could believe it. If all of this rumors are true then Fernando is producing a few songs for ARTPOP.

I think you're all trying to find excuses as to why you think the single would do well around Christmas time because you all want to hear it so badly but I don't think it'll do well then. It should be either in Sep/Oct but if not, she would wait until 2013.

Since the albums being released sometime in the first half of 2013 (as of yet anyway) I assume the first single will be released in 2013.

I'm going through some difficulties in my life, and I realized that I really hope ARTPOP isn't the fluff that it seems to be. Born This Way seemed too much, sure, but I need to be told that I was Born This Way, as free as my Hair and strong without the Scheiße. I don't need generic club-bangers. :noparty:

People say not to release it in Sep/Oct because of Kendrick and Cher, but let's all just face it, both of those songs are bound to flop anyways

I don't where you guys live but I have been in MD, NY, and NC around the Christmas season and have never heard Christmas music on top 40 radio. Maybe its West Coast thing.

I think she'll be fine as long as she releases a single by mid November.

I live in Los Angeles and the Top 40 radio stations here (for the majority of the christmas season) keep playing Top 40 music as usual with the occasional Mariah Carey All I Want for Christmas Is You or the like.

Its general stations like 104.3 and 103.5 that play the most Christmas music I think.

Just because something is a club banger doesn't mean its generic though. And also, sometimes light hearted music can be much more empowering and much more uplifting than the obnoxiously blatant messages that held down songs like Born This Way and Hair :coffee:

The Kendrick one might but the Cher one won't cause it's produced by Gaga and Redone plus it's a duet between to huge megastars so it won't flop...But i don't think it'll be her debut single so I doubt it's gonna be released anytime soon.
