Die Antwoord - Fatty Boom Boom. They made fun of gaga in the video, but I like that song.

I didn't even know that's where the gif came from tbqh! :toofunga:

I reallllllllly hope Burqa isn't the first single.

I'm all for controversy, but there are some battles you just can't and won't win, and this will be one of them. And that doesn't mean shouldn't make the song, but I'd hate for it to be what she returns to the scene with. Unless, like BTW, she truly feels it's important for the song to "work" to put it out there as a single. Even then, though... :wtf:

Agree x 10,000. The backlash from the stupid social justice bloggers on tumblr when she wore the burqa at the Philip Treacy show was enough to make me sick. I couldn't go through it again if she released it as a single. Burqas are such a complicated issue with the ban in France and other places, and there's no one easy answer on if, when, or how they should be worn. It represents different things to different people. And people are VERY touchy about the topic.

But I do worry because there's been a lot of pointing to that song in particular -- not only did Joe say it was his favorite, but in one of the monstervisions, Gaga asks someone (I think it was Terry) what he's humming and she says, "Oh, are you humming Burqa?" There was definitely a reason why they included that part in the video, because she wanted to point to that song.

UGH people are going to criticize her so hard for trying to comment/intervene in a situation for women she knows nothing about, trying to take away their self-determination, etc. I just can't deal with it. Controversy like that could sink ARTPOP just as it happened with Judas and BTW. Obviously I don't know anything about the song yet, but people are going to knitpick it to hell with a title like that.

that could all be swept away if we just shut our mouths and enjoy the music tho.

most controversy lives solely through commentary and the hype of it all. like hypothetically people would be so ready for something really vicious and controversial that before the song is even out people will talk something into being true. if we just remain positive like the song is suppose to evoke, then it might shut out a lot of the controversy. but constantly worrying into a tissy is gonna put so much bad energy out there that itll spur something to happen. let extremists abroad make their threat videos and cd burnings while we dont engage with them. refusing to give into it will surely dull the flame.....the red flame lol.

haters gon hate

debaters gon debate

and Gaga gon give duh bait.

Its inevitable when youre lady freakin gaga.

As much as it seems the GP is missing her and hungry for her return,as soon as she does anything there is going to be a mass of people who will cut her down and try to spin anything she does negatively.

Im just looking forward to good music for my ears, but when you are someone who believes in Gaga, who believes in her work, its hard not to want to atleast try to show people their ignorance when it comes to certain subject matters.

well if people are gonna tear her down regardless, then we might as well enjoy this song and burqa all day long ;)

Bloody hooker

G.U.Y is the women impowerment song on the album.

Oh... I really didn't know that.

This mutual gaze was a “longing to touch” or a "pre-coitus" stare.

Do you guys think she'll incorporate her wheel chair in the performance somehow? Maybe like a little transition segment from where she was pre-black out to now. It could just be a simple thing of her rolling out in the wheel chair by herself with no music, says a few words, then hops up when the music starts while dancers come out from different places and the performance starts.

Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~

that would be actually controversial, more so than the silly burqa debate (because itll be worth discussing and not religiously based).

i mean remember those wheelchair people were criticizing gaga for having a nice golden wheelchair, you can only imagine if she used it without needing to and for performance reasons.

I can see Burqa being a single, but the first, after this blackout? Idk... I'll have to hear the song first, I guess.

I'd love for her to come out in the wheelchair and then pop up out and blast that choreography like it's a walk in the park. Show em who's boss.

Clues that BURQA is the Telephone sequel

-there are clues that burqa is the first single

-the first single must be the telephone sequel because of beyonce's album delays

-the first single must be the telephone sequel because the paparazzi video fits perfectly with Gaga's current situation

-it was announced the sequel would be on ARTPOP around the same time BURQA was confirmed

-Gaga and Bey wear cowgirl-style burqas at the end of telephone and Gaga used a telephone at the end of paparazzi

-"BURQA" would fit the same theme of female empowerment, disguise and running from the law that the first 2 videos have

-Telephone was arguably Gaga's most popular music video (with the GP) and the sequel would make for a HUMUNGOUS comeback for the GP who have been waiting for the continuation.

-it would make for an epic VMA comeback with a sequel performance to her Paparazzi performance at the VMAs - the first song in the "I Just Killed my Boyfriend Trilogy"

I admit, this would all be so much fun for the first single!

The future's uncertain and the end is always near.
