Luck 133
it was at its peak during the btw era because she incorporated it into her music with full force. at least during tfm era the album was better. NOT that i dont like born this way, but songs like hair, highway unicorn, and bad kids were just the worst. like half the album is great and the other tracks are like so cheesy and fluffy. its like really? hair is not what i wanted I agree with you, but I seriously just quoted you to say that I really live your new avi, lol. GreenEyes 1,049
I quite like the Mother Monster thing. It's unique to this fanbase and I think it's an interesting concept. I've always kind of thought the constant annoying "GAGA, GAGA, GAGA, GAGA" shouts during a signing or something were far more gross. I'd rather hear Gaga then calling her my mom. People take that way to far and say stuff like Don't offend my mom. Um she is not your mother, it is not unique, it is just wrong.
Alien Tulip 12,428
I love highway unicorn but I really disliked the other cheesy songs like Hair and Bad Kids. The whole mother monster persona was very loving and I appreciated it but it did make it cringe at times but I still love the girl to many pieces. I just hope with this new album she's toned down the mother monster image which I think she will since she said say the album will have a tremendous lack of responsibility. I don't want her to be some out of control, vomiting out of a nightclub definition of a celebrity but I would like her to be more "fun" because I felt like in the born this way era, too many things were too serious which was amazing because she opened up to a lot of people but it just kind of sucked the fun out of the era. She can still be theatrical and fun at the same time like the vma paparazzi performance. The fame era gaga a lot of people hated her but I felt like it was an enjoyable era because we had both fun and theatrical performances. I don't what I'm saying I'm just blabbering my mouth right now
Jesse Pinkman 4,660
Gaga should sacrifice a lamb onstage at the VMAs tbh :Whitney: It's science, bitch

I can't relate too hair or bad kids because I'm in my 20s. Born this way, scheisse, americano, electric chapel and marry the night can relate to all ages just like her previous two albums. Joemayzin 4,021
reading some of these posts about the whole "be yourself" thing kinda bothers me, that's what GAGA stands for and that's what separates us from other fanbases (I know other artist represent this meaning to but we are on a gaga site) she sends a message not to judge and be proud of who you are idk about you buttt I love my life and being a gay male knowing she's out there trying to make everyone have an open mind to a certain lifestyle (not just gay) and really push it through music amazes me. everyone it entitled to their own opinion but when you blame a fanbase on how she portrays her music is wrong. Doogi 1,506
Fans take the "Mother Monster" nickname WAY too far… "Wow nice tits Mommy" :eww: I'm Chloe. Except the C and the L are silent.

And that's what I love about her and her passion for the born this way album however I felt as if some songs were too focused on teenagers which is no problem because it was during a time where a lot of gays got bullied for their s-xual orientation but the era just wasn't that fun to me for the fact that everything was so serious and the whole "bully" situations but like I said I appreciate what she did for the born this way era but I'm looking forward for a less serious route but still keeping the "BTW foundation" branch. Its weird because I've been a fan from the start (the fame era) and I noticed when I became a fan I was one of the youngest fans during the fame era and mostly all of gaga fans in the fame era were adults that went to clubs, bars and just have fun. I want to experience that again. I probably sound like a dick weed in this post but Im just confessing.
Jesse Pinkman 4,660
I agree with this tbh, but honestly, if I'm completely honest. I feel that Gaga was pressured into making BTW. Not to say that she didn't believe in the messages, but I think that her image of becoming a gay icon and the fact that during her rise to gay icon status the whole "gay bullying" revolution took place. This in turn kind of forced her to respond to the epidemic of teenagers in the lgbt community being bullied and committing suicide. I think that if she weren't so pressured because of this revolution, we would've gotten a different kind of album. Joemayzin 4,021
i wasn't saying anything bad or blamed the fanbase a certain someone a couple of posts ago blamed the fanbase for why she wrote those songs, yeah i used to get bullied but i'm the kinda person who doesn't give a fu(; lol i'm just saying she wrote those songs cause she loves her fans and has to the power to write & produce anything. she didn't have to but still chose to which is why she is Lady GaGa, ARTPOP is all about possibilities so i can't wait to see what message that brings when the era "Officially" kicks off

Why would she waste 4 years of her life producing and touring an album with such a passion if she was pressured into it? She has supported gay rights ever since her career took off, and I think BTW was more of a business move to strengthen her core fanbase, not become a gay icon She poured her HEART into this album for the FANS, not for fame. Also, she's been a gay icon since The Fame :trootea: Gahh, sometimes peoples theories throw me off. ARTPOP will be a piece of BTW like Gaga said, but it's time to move ooooooooon. Hopefully Gaga knows that. Edited May 14, 2013 by Pyrenti
