bananahammock 1
TFM era was so perfect. the videos, the tour, the fashion, EVERYTHING i'm confident she'll be able to match it with ARTPOP
TheZoto 0
I know that Bad Romance, Dance In The Dark, Alejandro, and a few other songs blow the other two albums away in terms of singles... But IMO the Fame and Born This Way are better albums as a whole... The fashion was great in TFM era.. I do agree with that, but Telephone, the song not the video, made me sad... Telephone is one of her best songs with regards to the general public? There were no flaws in TFM era. There were flaws in the other two. Therefore TFM >>>>>>>>>>>. Didymus 34,379
We don't it's just one of the most important aspects. About whether or not a song is good? That's ridiculous.
Saint Laurent 4,862
About whether or not a song is good? That's ridiculous. When releasing an album one of the most important things that both her and the label consider is the reaction of the general public. To suggest otherwise is completely ignorant and inaccurate. aaronyoji 2,054
Basically Born This Way was Gaga's chance to pay homage to her childhood heroes like the Stones, David Bowie, Bruce Springsteen, KISS, etc. Also it was a fan tribute album more than a commercial slay the charts album.. the fact it did so well on the charts is astonishing to me because it was quite different from the rest of the pop albums in 2011 sonically She incorporated lots of different styles in that album and Interscope basically let her do it because it was her baby. Interscope is going broke and they have taken the reigns on ARTPOP and guided her in a particular direction for what they want production wise and lyrically. ARTPOP will be more TFM esque and we probably won't ever have another album like Born This Way again, which makes that one very very special.. but I am ready for a return to business as usual for Gaga- see see see this is what i strongly strongly disagree with. born this way was just as gaga as the other albums. im tired of seeing this condescension of "oh, gaga had her little experimentation with that flop born this way, but NOW its time to get back to her real work" that's just not how it is for her. and i don't think at all that her label is steering her into a certain musical direction. like at all. they've been saying since last summer that the songs were great and unexpected. they like that. you can't expect someone to push the boundaries and evolve if they're playing it safe with the production. So all the underground artist that release the most amazing, but commercially uninteresting, music are amateurs? Gaga's hits are hits because they're generic and radio-friendly. But that doesn't mean they're genius. Financial success / success with the GP does not equal quality.
