Nate 0
Gangnam Style disagrees "WTF" could go both ways. Gangnam Style was in no way meant to be serious, it was a fun dance song. Scheisse is a song about feminism. There's the difference :toofloppy:
Samuel 3
It has like no melody at all tho Every song has a melody it's just down to whether or not you like the melody
George Black 0
So... can we discuss ARTPOP now? Not that we have much to discuss, but I see no point in going over the BTW era again and again.
Nate 0
Every song has a melody it's just down to whether or not you like the melody It does have a melody obviously, but it's not an interesting one. Part of that is subjective, I agree, but calling it the "biggest and best chorus on BTW" is a mistake. It has no qualities of being "big" at all and for having no interesting melody, I can't imagine it being the best chorus on there. But you're right, that's my opinion ;) I expect more from her. That chorus was written in five seconds.

That chorus was written in five seconds. It's interesting I suppose, the weakest choruses on for me were MTN, BTW and HU. Scheiße's got a signature TFM esk sounding chorus that I loved instantly. I still remember streaming the album for the first time and jumping up and down like a fukcing loon when those EPIC "I"'s started coming in... but you're right it subjective. But Scheiße along with Hair and TEOG (for me) are perfect examples of how a great chorus should be done. Edited May 8, 2013 by Samuel
EnigmaMonstr 26
Regarding Schiesse; I played it yesterday in my car, and my friend, who is not a Lady Gaga fan in anyway, was blown away by it. He was like "wtf is this Lady Gaga? I actually like this. I could imagine dancing to this at a club on molly." The German part is what went over the best with him. So idk why people say the GP wouldn't like the German... its like the rah rahs in BR except a totally original concept. We need some "Ich schlieben austa be clair" and a little less "Juda ah ah"

I remember the reactions of Judas: "She's constantly trying to redo the rah-rah blabla things, just stop!" I don't think it's wise to add a song like Scheisse in the mix as well. I'm sure it would have come across as: "Oh right.. Here she is again.. Good beat, though". We can never be sure, but personally, I think it wouldn't have done well at all. I simply can't imagine that song breaking the Top 10 in countries.

No one wanted a BR rehash, they wanted to see what other psychotic songs she could come up with. I wholeheartedly believe that Scheisse was the answer to that. Especially if it followed up Born This Way instead of Judas... IT would go freedom song for the gays, freedom song for the girls, and hell, if she released Hair after, it would be a freedom song for everyone. And then of course Heavy Metal Lover should've been thrown in for some levity after that just to show she wasn't too serious.
Giorno Giovanna 3,178
:laughga: this I see a lot of lies in this thread right now. Especially the lie that Hair would've been a hit and Scheisse/HML wouldn't. Such a disgusting fallacy. このジョルノジョヴァンナ夢がある

We'll never know since it has never been released as a single. You just can't/don't know what the GP would have liked lol "I have been writing LG5 since I was 13"

I do believe it would have done great, but I was sure MTN was going to smash when it was released. I believe it's not about the song, it's about how you promote it "I have been writing LG5 since I was 13"
