trutheverafter 132
Seriously, though you guys. Imagine if this was actually the date set in stone back in 2012 and we had it all along. I mean, if you think about it it's the most legit thing we have. Handwritten by Gaga, saying "ARTPOP 29. 6. 2013." Exactly! And why not release ARTPOP on a saturday? I mean it's about possibilities No, seriously I really think it's the album release date. „Talk is cheap but costs a lot“

nath4gaga 1,274
I just thought about something else that could explain her total blackout these days. I started to think about the last time we had professional, clear pictures of Gaga and that would be at The Chateau Marmont. She comes out at the front entrance, to go on a very visible convertible, with paparazzi there. She's been "hidding" there for who knows how long and there are no pictures of her coming in or out. She definitely called the paps to be captured. I also find it EXTREMELY weird that she keeps her eyes almost closed, you can never see her eyeball in these pictures. If she wanted to not be seen, she would have worn sunglasses, like she almost ALWAYS does when being photographed coming out of a hotel, or just signing things from a car. So, I think these might be the last pictures we'll see of Gaga in a long time. There's a talk going around about the word Ghost, and Gaga definitely wanted us to see her full makeup there. That is no error, she's always make-up perfect, even when she's by herself and we know she had Tara. She didn't even bother make up her neck and back. Her hair is light and pulled back so it won't distract from seeing her face. No jewelry, no hat -and she's been wearing the YSL ones constantly for a long time now- and a drapy white dress... She's definitely -purposely- fading herself out. (In all senses of the term) The hidden frame in the BTWBall timelapse is called a ghost frame. What if Gaga becomes a ghost frame? When you think about it, the fiber optic wig could be an extent of that idea. (The UV glow one too) Like cords coming out of her head. I think you're on the right lines tbh, although I thought of the ghost thing as soon as soon as I saw the ghost frame in the video. It also fits to a tweet by Perry Meek, who's a haus member (twitter unverified) but he tweeted this when someone asked him about the hidden frame "@Jasper_Matt LOL it's a ghost !." This further fits with DJ White Shadow's tweet "I'm out to the mansion I'm bout to catch Ghost..." Notice how he capitalized Ghost and he didn't say "a" before it. Which further confirms, in my mind, out theory. Also, although we've established that it's not the same car at Chateau Marmont, I find it odd that gaga's hair in the ghost frame seems to be very similar in style... I also think you're correct about the makeup, there's no way she could make such a mistake as to have such light foundation on, and also if you've noticed she's wearing a very plain white outfit which I also believe to be linked to the ghost theme. The media blackout has also led me to believe a similar concept. I have done a little research and found that there are reports that gaga think she is being haunted by a particular ghost called Ryan (not even joking.) However, the source seems to be The Mirror newspaper ahaha :toofloppy: I like the hair aspects, I'm here for something like, the stage starts out all grey in a sort of dystopian, futuristic room that's full of technology, and she has this absolutely huuuuge weave on and they're like all super thickcables connecting to the room (which is basically one big computer and appears to be a--lysing her or something, parallels can be drawn to the tendency of society to judge those who are different.) She'd been captured and had been stuck in that room for centuries. A song is sung in desperation, perhaps a sadder song from the album, it looks like she's losing the will to live, an event happens (perhaps a scientist says something that triggers something in her mind.) She continues and sings ARTPOP, the cables attached to her head begin to light up bright colours, i'm thinking things that glow in UV light. as it reaches the climax of the song the colour erupting from the cables reaches the edge of the room, there is a massive burst of colour and she rips herself from the hair cables that bind her to the room. She escapes, only to find the world a complete mess, it's full of tall grey buildings, and everyone's miserable, the rest of the concert is her trying to bring back the ART, POP, fun and enjoyment into the world. I think it would be really interesting if she were to do this, especially visually, as everyone will expect it to start out supercolourful! The outfits would be super futuristic as this is set in hundreds of years time. Getting sooo hyped!!!!! Also, it can fit in the theme of ghost, as the world is a ghost of what it once was in all it's glory :P Edited May 5, 2013 by nath4gaga

Coldplay 217
. I just thought about something else that could explain her total blackout these days. She's definitely -purposely- fading herself out. (In all senses of the term) The hidden frame in the BTWBall timelapse is called a ghost frame. What if Gaga becomes a ghost frame? We know ARTPOP will be a multiple platform, multimedia experience. What if Gaga herself becomes a multimedia experience. She's going to be updating the apps a lot, being very interactive. What if she only becomes alive through the app? She has projected her image onto mother GOAT already, maybe take that a step further? We know how much she believes technology is the future of everything. Maybe she'll become technology. ARTPOP is electronic music, possibly only electronic music, no other organic instrument. We haven't heard about anyone doing guest appareances on the record, unlike Brian May or Clarence Clemons, which we knew about quite a lot of time before BTW came out, right after they recorded their part I believe. She's been playing with the size of her lips, maybe she'll do a Rocky Horror type of app. Maybe the mother app for ARTPOP will be her lips talking. When you think about it, the fiber optic wig could be an extent of that idea. (The UV glow one too) Like cords coming out of her head. She could also take the video glasses of The Fame and extend that to a complete video face mask? Like a non-tacky, feminine, high fashion version of Deadmau5. Oh god I would die if she wears a video face mask, the fiber optic wig and a projection dress à la Carrie Underwood, or like the body suits that McQueen did at Givenchy. Complete electronic hybrid. Ouh and do you remember when it was reported that Gaga commissioned a dress from Franck Sorbier? Well, his latest collection consists of projection dresses... I'm sure if she teamed up with Hussein Chalayan again, they could really take the light-up/projection/LED outfits to a brand new place and revolution the way we see fashion. Sh*t, I just got myself hyped again. Your posts! Keep em coming, they're so fun to read and they get me hyped!

Michael 533
I started talking about Burqa in this thread and it lead to some theories about ARTPOP and I think it would be better if I post that here, so here it is: A burqua is something that covers not only your whole body but your whole face. (Unlike a niqab) Gaga has played with that idea of hiding her face and persona since the beggining of her career. (Poker face...) That's why she always wears glasses, right? Well, I know that's why I love wearing sunglasses, so people can't read my emotions. Also "I've got my bangs to hide that I don't stand a chance" and "A hat is a social canopy" from her showstudio interview. The burqua is basically bangs, hats and glasses that hide your whole identity. Daphne Guinness has a quote that sums it up quite nicely: "I thought by overdressing I was disguising myself and no one could see me, like the child who covers her eyes and thinks she's invisible." That's exactly what a Burqua does. You can't see who wears it and somehow it makes them more visible. I think the burqua is the ultimate fashion statement tbh. It's the only piece of clothing that hides your entire identity, while making you stand out in a crowd. I'm surprised not a lot of fashion designers played with that idea. It might also be the most empowering piece of clothing too, having your self entirely for you, like that safe/fearless feeling of being hidden under a blanket. Not having your body/face/hair projected into the world and onto the people seeing you. You can do anything if nobody can see (judge) you and you can still interact with the world. I wouldn't be surprised if when asked about the burqa, Gaga says it's like a cloak of invisibilty from under there. I also wouldn't be surprised if the song wasn't the controversial thing everybody thinks it will be, but more like an empowering poker face. (I don't think her father would love the song if it was f*cking with religion, especially islam) It is especially interesting since she's been so vividly criticized for her weight fluctuations. I would adore for burqa to be the anthem for her body revolution. Like a '**** what they say, wear your burqa, keep your body. Wear your burqa, embrace your identity.' As if it were a barrier from the exterior influencing your way of seeing yourself. I also think it will shine some light in the growing racism and islamophobia. It is interesting of her to bring that up in this time of history. It is said great art is something that can depict the time when it was created. Zeitgeist. When she wore that pink burqa at the Treacy show, I think the general reaction was a shocked effroi. Like a 'She dared wearing that, I hope she knows what she's doing'. Ouh and you remember that outfit? I would die if some part of ARTPOP was her not showing her face. She doesn't want her pictures taken at the moment, what if it's transitioning into a never seeing her face anymore? The heavy white powdered complexion she's been wearing could mean she's transitioning into white, into invisibility. What if the 'not revealing her face' was the 'horns and pointy cheekbones' of the ARTPOP era? She's been criticized for allegedly redoing her nose and lips... If she becomes some faceless entity for some song era in ARTPOP, it would be everything! The craving to capture her face would be as big as the craving to find out what she was wearing at the beggining of her career. (It is already starting with the thirst in the fanbase to get some pictures of her) Quite a lot of hints points towards her not showing her face for ARTPOP actually. The poster she had in her dressing room with ARTPOP written on it, the model had her hands hiding her face! And I'm also gonna throw that out there... The BTWBall timelapse frame: faces edited out. It could also explain why she's being so silent about ARTPOP and release dates. Because from the moment she throws a release date, she would have to be in control of her (non) image at all times and without fail. While her Fame performance was the overexposure of the popstar, what if ARTPOP is about the non exposure? Taking out the human element and letting the music be? She's known for bringing the visual element back in the music in a big way, ARTPOP may be about taking off the popstar element? If I'm right, I don't know how long she could do that, maybe only for one song era, revealing her face for the second music video? Or maybe only from the moment she starts to hype ARTPOP to the release of the music video? Or if we count on the VMA, maybe she'll reveal herself at the VMAs? The faceless creatures was a big theme for McQueen (we all remember her red lace dress at the VMAs) and for Maison Martin Margiela. The focus was then on the clothes only. Take out the Gaga and you get fashion and music. Daft Punk are definitely known for not showcasing their faces. Making the famous Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger music video a cartoon. I think it's really reaching but I'm just gonna mention it, Helen Green is part of the Haus of Gaga now, and we all know about Gaga's obsession with Disney movies and princesses. (So there you go, that's my theories, I kinda got carried away. ) omg and that sort of fits with the whole 'Private In Public' thing that she had going when she first started writing ARTPOP.
