Fernando's vocal productions are APPALLING... I  thought we all knew that?

Speak for yourself, because he's my favorite producer (And I'm mentally chopping your head off for saying that right now, know that)

The Grammy's didn't seem to think so when they nominated Born This Way for Album of the Year.

His vocal mixing on Marry the Night, Edge of Glory, Black Jesus and especially Dance in the Dark are dire. He's a great producer, and HML and DITD showcase how talented he is at synth production (probably the best synth producer Gaga has on her squad)... but his vocal production is dreadful.

And it's a shame, DITD is my favourite Gaga song... EVER. But if only RedOne produced the damn vocals  Would have been perfect...

And when did I say Born this Way wasn't a good album unworthy of a grammy nomination?

I'll just redirect you to my response to Michael... ^^^

producers aren't in control of mastering vocals tho. thats the sound engineer. if gaga thought the vocals where too rough then she would've redone them, she obviously wanted them a certain way.

Do you guys think Gaga will do a ballad?

Or all the songs will be EDM?

iheartrihannaslayingbm0ptg.gif

Depends on if she can make it work with the rest of the songs. It would be weird to be in the middle of rave and then all of a sudden hearing someone like you. :P

Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~

It's not Fernando's fault at all; it's actually most probably Gaga's artistic choice as a co-producer. Listen to some of his other productions and see by yourself!

who knows.. i mean it would be nice for a ballad but idk how it will sound on the record.. having all these thumping dance tracks playing with a nice flow could be easily ruined with a slow song. but maybe maybe it could be released on the app? she does have 50 songs written apparently..

Agreed.

But I think would be nice to hear a ballad from Gaga. The lyrics would be amazing and the live performances pure magic

tbh Fernando's songs are some of my favorites. but everyone is entitled to their own opinion!

on the other hand, yeah mastering is usually done by a totally separate 3rd party. BTW was mastered by Gene Grimaldi at Oasis Mastering in CA. this man has NOTHING to do with the actual production, just the post-production.

receipts.

Just compare the clarity of Scheiße, Hair, Alejandro or Bad Romances vocals to the ones used TEOG of DITD. The vocals are recorded through the mixing stage and polished during the mastering... So either Fernando just can't mix vocals particularly well... Or Fernando/RedOne/Paul have a say in the mastering process,... But come to think of it your right. Dave's in charge of Gaga's mastering.... it's probably the former.

She always has this amazing ability to turn her dance songs into ballads though. :flutter:

I really do love Fernando's production of BTW. I even like the vocals almost all the time. But for ARTPOP i am excited to hear Gaga work with other producers and experiment with different types of sounds. I really love Fernando but I think everyone always looks for different things :P

The only problem I have with Fernando's 'mastering' is in MTN, her voice to me sounds crispy and offish.

I'm actually really concerned about what Zedd might create because I don't much like what I've heard of his work, aside from Shave It. I'm not really doubting him because If Gaga had never worked with RedOne and he was brought in for ARTPOP, I'd be incredibly concerned, but all of his productions with Gaga are magnificent.

I'm excited for Madeon because of the magical, 'ethereal' feel to his music whilst also being electronic.
DJWS is fabulous. I'm not a big fan of EC at all, but its instrumental alone is so amazing, and then Bloody Mary is one of the best produced songs that I've ever heard in my life. I adore RedOne, Scheisse slays my life and Hair's instrumental is sublime.
