I'd say Beyonce is most talked about pop star right now. I would definitely call her a threat to Gaga's #1. Her 4 album was not s-xy fun and diva-ish at all, which is what everybody wants from Beyonce. I think she knows that now - her superbowl performance was all of that and it was great, and I felt like she was giving us a glimse of what's to come with her.

 

In the past she might have been hit or miss, but she seems determined to get those #1s this time. All of this buildup has to be for something. (And after Jay Z's huge success with N***as in Paris, I'm hoping she does something with a bit of that feel to it, that would slay)

 

Anyways, I want both of them to be constantly on radio, but I want Gaga to be on another level of owning them

 

of course shes huge shes always huge. but i think people forget she doesn't always smash on radio. thats all. rihanna, taylor, and katy are larger threats to her #1 than beyonce

Ok yeah I see where you're coming from. Rihanna could release a snippet of her gargling mouthwash and it would be a #1. Except I think all of her #1 material has been put out already from Unapologetic so she's not as big of a worry (I think that goes for Taylor also). I hate Katy Perry so much but there's no denying she's all over the #1s too, so Gaga's gotta put out at least 1 or 2 before Katy begins

for sure dude katy is the biggest threat and her album was rumored to come out in the summer i had thought. i like unapologetic so i think theres still material there. don't know **** about taylor don't care.

the threat coming from Katy is just single wise there's no way that Katy could beat Gaga in albums and that's the important sales

idk man her popularity is crazy huge

with all the positivity she gets from the public i can see this album being her biggest yet and singles mean more than albums these days anyway.

This could be completely wrong, but does anyone feel like Cake could be a song, or even the first single, on ARTPOP? Here's my reasoning:

1) M.I.A tweeted Gaga about TEA and CAKE and capitalized both titles, and we obviously know that Tea is a song, so wouldn't that mean Cake is too?

2) Gaga rapped a whole song over a subject that otherwise has no meaning. Nobody knows what "Cake like Lady Gaga" even means, unless it's possibly a song.

3) Gaga tweeted "The real CAKE is not having what you want, it's doing what you want," awhile ago. These could be possible lyrics.

Like I said, I could be totally wrong, but I had just been thinking about this.

Cake was only a statement to the media about her weight. She's awesome and better than everyone else in all these ways, and she'll still eat cake (get fat). It was a joke song. Nothing else. Period.

Well now that I think about it, Gaga did say that she wanted to perfect her vocals for the rest of the album AFTER the BTWB ended. But I'm 100% sure that the lead single is already perfected, so I think we'll definitely get the lead in April.

She doesn't need to dance all that much. It's a GAGA LEAD SINGLE, it's going to go #1 no matter what. She doesn't need that many performances, just one or two. She'll be fine rested by May anyways

im talking more about being able to shoot the music video rather than the performances,, but its also not all about being number 1 on pop radio. TV performances branch out to a whole different variety of people. Its the best way to gain new fans and play with performances like she did with BTW (the single). I am hoping for a May release as well as long as she is in good health but if not May then I cant see us waiting much later than mid June.

This makes me think sooooo much of the skype chat which was literally only to promote skype tbh. Even though everyone knew to be prepared to be let down we all still cant help but get excited and HOPE for something. Our hearts speak louder than our minds and im sure that even though we all see it coming the meltdowns will be huge.....unless in fact we do get something significant on her bday.
