She started her career with a high concept album parodying pop culture and fame.

Yeah, she can say that all she wants. She still put out songs like Just Dance, and now suddenly she's above that and can only release Born This Way or Judas with different beats. :lmao:

Yes by all means lets all just hope she regresses and releases mediocre pop songs like Just Dance in order to maintain some sort of cultural relevance.

Oh, forgot to insert an obnoxious smiley...

In my eyes just dance isn't a regression, its just early stages of her artistry. If you look at early Dahli or da Vinci it isn't regressive its just stages, all of which contain pieces of beautiful art.

You sound like someone trying to sound sophisticated :nails: Gaga doesn't have to be some artistic goddess who finds all brainless dance music to be low brow (after all, "POP MUSIC WILL NEVER BE LOW BROW"). I'm sure Gaga feels the impulse to make that kind of music on occasion. Please, get off your rainbow high horse of pretension. :ohwell:

I Love FameGa, FameMonsterGa, and BTWGa. Why must people argue? Just Dance and Judas are both intelligently written yet completely different subject matters. But NONE of the songs on ARTPOP will sound anything like those songs or anything she's ever put out before. There will be no 2.0's. She has all but said so herself.

Why are you guys arguing? Gaga's challenge with ARTPOP is to make fun dance music that is simple, but sophisticated like Born This Way.

I thought we already established this?

You have to agree though that Judas was Bad Romance 2.0 (though not performance wise). The stuttering "Judas" and "Ra ra..." hooks, the chorus of "ooh's," and so on. Both produced by RedOne if I recall correctly.

Anyone else think Gaga was channeling the novel 1984 by George Orwell with the song lyrics she tweeted?

Honestly it made me think of that stupid Rebecca Black song lol what is it? Person of Interest? :dies:

I really hope she doesn't use "Gypsy" as a song title. :/ For one, gypsy is a racist slur (the proper way to refer to the people is as the Roma) and while I get that she's all romanticizing the culture, using that word is really not cool. Also, Shakira already did the "gypsy" thing. It was not cool then, not cool now, but now it would be... already done.

"Burqa" has the potential to be either a huge mess or absolutely awesome, so I'm going to give it a chance. I really, really hope she doesn't use "gypsy" though...

TEA has a boring title but the lyrics seem cool. Sex Dreams sounds boring, though I like the posted lyrics. GUY is a boring title. The Applause (if it's real) sounds so beautiful and epic and THAT I want to happen. I'll probably love the songs even if I'm not a fan of the actual titles (BTW had these great, unique titles like Government Hooker and Marry The Night, even Highway Unicorn).

KoScoJo - Sorry I didn't quote you, still can't figure out how to do that on mobile. I agree, because Gaga even said that she wanted Judas to sound familiar while also being innovative and a step forward. I don't look at it as 2.0 as much as I look at it as an evolution+progression in her work as an artist.

LOL when you said Roma I was like "Roma, roma-ma!" :smh: I really need some new Gaga music soon. I'm getting delirious with all of these arguments and conjectures. By the way I know I've already said this but I REALLY want RapGa to reappear. The RapGa from Starstruck and Paper Gangsta.

OMG yes!!! :tea:

Gaga is all about being artistic. But she isn't stupid, so she knows she HAS to make something "generic" every once in a while in order to stay in the Pop music Industry without weirding people out too much

Gonna be laughing at all the people who were saying "That song sounds too floppy" and end up liking the song they were bashing tbh :coffee:

She can make commercial songs that are likely to be hits without them being generic, though. She has done before.

That's alright, and I suppose that is a way to look at it. I'm listening to Stay by Hurts right now and REALLY wish she would have them featured on a song or vice versa. I think their vocals together would be like :worship2:

The songs still need the tell-tale signs of chart topping pop hits (well, more often that not...suppose Somebody That I Used To Know is an exception). Sometimes people just want a song from Gaga that's kind of carefree or purely s-xual like Just Dance and LoveGame respectively (I feel like a broken record now).
