Why do Monsters keep calling BTW a flop? The album broke records in it's first week, which technically wasn't even a week, it was like 4 days. The promo singles leading up to the release were extremely successful, all but two singles made it to number 1 in multiple countries.

The only problems with BTW is that promo tracks were later singles. Such as The Edge of Glory and Marry The Night. The Edge was extremely well received as a promo so it was chosen as a single to be released after Judas. Scheiße was dropped due to success of The Edge as a promo. Marry The Night was originally planned to be first single on the album instead of BTW. MTN was kind of less successful as a single lik The Edge because of the airplay they received as promos. By the time they were made into singles, radio already over played them and they became less fresh.

It's the same thing with Yoü And I, Gaga's management should not have chosen a song she performed since early 2010 as a single on the album. If you ask me, it seems Gaga's management, ie Vincent, purposely sabotaged Gaga. Gaga wanted different singles but Vincent had final say.

Gaga actually even said both Scheiße and Hair were supposed to be singles.

ARTPOP will not be a "flop", Gaga knows what kind of music the general public will respond to now and what will be successful, taking the time choosing the tracks for ARTPOP reflects her realizing what music the general public wants to hear and what music we want to hear.

And before calling BTW a flop, look at album sales, success of tour, etc. Just because the music films don't have hundreds of millions of views that doesn't mean the era was not successful.

So I had a dream last night about ARTPOP

In my dream the release date for the single was in May and the album release was in July.

The cover was colorful but not like anything I expected.. the cover was purple and black and orange.

Well what was the actual cover photo?

Well what was the actual cover photo?

She wasn't on it at all.. but the text for ARTPOP was like in some alien like font and it was raised above a little bit.

Do you think IS would have said yes to Scheiße as a (global) single? (Although Gaga said it was planned. I also believe that Hair would have been a good single choice, too.) And if yes why did they drop it? It's completely different to TEOG so could've been 4th single...

Y&I is not my favorite type of song, but it was successful in the US. However it did not suit for the European market...

After listening to MTN I would have said yes, it's lead single material. Now I feel like its too special. BTW is special as well, but has a message everyone understands. Still I'm happy they released it since we have an amazing video, which is my favorite so far.

Is Vince from IS or from an agency? Why does he have so much impact, shouldn't he have more a consulting function?

In the end it's good for AP's promotion to make it nearly perfect.

i think that what made btw beautiful as an album was its diversity in sound. Some songs instantly caught me while others took a little time for me to really understand and fall in love with as well as having a few odd ball songs i still just dont care for. But i really hope that with these new producers and the supposed new sound that ARTPOP has a tremendous impact from start to finish without sounding the same track after track.

I have the feeling that she is gonna announce something in the first week of February after the Super Bowl. Before the Super Bowl I think that we just have the Born This Way Ball and some tweets with any information.

I don't know why but that really is above the "snippets" that are circulating the internet in these days. Maybe because it's legit but it does really sound like a "glam synth extravaganza from 2050" as Zedd described it. :cryga:

LOL the song they played is this song:
