emiher 2
I'd like to respectively disagree Yes, she's steeped in controversy, but now is the time she needs us the most! I'm handling this wait probably as well as we all are in general, and it is hard, but we just need to take everything an "insider" says with a grain of salt, and just keep having faith Hang in there fellow Monsters! We can do it!!! :)
kupo 201
She has become completely overshadowed by unwarranted controversies. I'm so over it. To be fair, we have a totally skewed perception because we hang out on pop music boards. Most of the public doesn't really give that much of a **** about this stuff. It'll make some news outlets, people might hear about it, but it will have little to no affect on her career trajectory or the overall opinion of the general public. Alex C 254
BREED COMPASSION 2013 - THEMES FOR ARTPOP We live in very cynical times. Even revolutionary-oriented people nowadays have abandoned the ship of compassion and empathy in order to achieve social justice. Even the smartest people around me have adopted a violent and/or nihilistic approach in politics. Although it is very predictable after what we the people are going through (economic depression, s-xism, racism, etc) because the human psyche always looks for an 'enemy.' Gaga's political approach is revolutionary: By stating that we should change the world with a postitive manner, with compassion and empathy, she manages to construct an alternative method of fighting for our desires and freedoms. Many people label her tactics as 'hippy-ish', 'non-radical' etc. However, in this cynical time and age, sticking to non-violent, compassionate, art-engaging liberating politics is THE most radical thing to do. She said that ARTPOP is about possibilities; this is not as general as it sounds. I hope/think that she will express her political opinions on social unity versus social polarization. Radical politics of our age (especially Fouceault) propose a divide-and-win polarizing attidute. Some stress the fact that the enemy is within us, in our thoughts and daily behaviour. However, this make us blind to the real enemy on the world, which is not the 'conservative society' at large, but the CYNICISM that comes from the people that have power. I also hope that she will have a yin/yang approach to her themes, by stressing how to love your enemy in order to understand them and change them for the better, how to promote unity in a planet full of religious bigots, how to promote queer and non-queer folk unification (and not ghetto-ification), and how to use ART in order to change the world. Do not beleive her that ARTPOP will be irresponsible; deep inside, that music baby will contain the smartest, most revolutionary and radical lyrics and themes she has ever written. I cannot wait anymore for ARTPOP. But when it comes, one of the first things I'll do after I listen to the music, will be to enjoy the wonderful sense of Community we -as monsters- share. This cannot be taken from us. The electric chapels of Gaga (e.g. Little monsters site, here on Gaga Daily) are the very essence of how we Come to Church in our own, digital, futuristic way. Love, from a fellow Performance Artist, Alex C. P.S. Never feel wrong to promote peace and compassion. Perform Living

Love, from a fellow Performance Artist, Alex C. P.S. Never feel wrong to promote peace and compassion. I agre with you completely. She's been promoted a way to change the world that may seem as "cheesy" and "unnefective" but is really innovting, because nearly no one does it. Nowadays (if it hasn't been always like this) everything has to involve conflict, and as you said, "the enemy" has to be found somewhere. I only hope she can pull off that kind of social criticism with ARTPOP :)

Marrythenight27 0
If no details get released at the Born This Way Ball today then I'm just done with ARTPOP. I'm sick of waiting for something that's suppose to be near. She said sprint but all I ever hear about gaga anymore is people bashing her. I just want news about her MUSIC. ARTPOP has just become a guessing game. I'm done.

But im not here for another preachy album like Born This Way... and it doesn't matter how eloquently we put it.. the rest of the world doesn't either.. for our sake she needs to leave ARTPOP seperate and this whole loving your enemy thing needs to be silenced for a little while - she can still promote equality through her foundation but maybe its time to make music about something else.
