Maybe because they're the epitome of living "Private in Public", the original celebrities? She's got the perfect, romanticised and naive Disney princesses, the regal fur-clad and tiara wearing actual princesses, seemingly with a particular focus on eastern European royalty and of course the fallen princesses of pop culture. I concur with the fan a--lysis going around ( ) about her taking particular inspiration from Britney ("the Princess of Pop") Spears recently with the head shaving a tattoo placing. It really did seem like she was turning that iconic moment in pop culture into an art piece and commentary on fame. Add to this, her fibre-optic wig intending to be a "Disney princess in a rave", the FAME bottle horse and carriage, the Sleeping Beauty-esque "Sleeping with Gaga" performance and her consistent "Princess High, Princess Die" mentions. i thought princess high is something fans started saying and she started saying it. The disney princess thing first came to everyones knowledge when someone on lm.com posted a cartoon image and she shared that as well. I dont think these themes were her original thoughts but they are definatly being imphasised now. Maybe ARTPOP is being thought of as she goes. I just dont want totally crazy eras like in BTW. I agree with you. I'm going with the theory of Gaga representing how Disney princesses are seen as the perfect model of a woman, but she pretends to destroy that image with the irresponsible stuff. At the Philip Treacy show she was channeling Princess Jasmine and also a bouquet of flowers. And not to mention her twitter pic & background. She's been saying Princess High every chance she gets... Idk, it kind of sounds to me like a single. I doubt she'd have two "Princess" songs on one album. And If I'm not mistaken, "Princess High" was a play on "Princess Die" and was a joke told to her by a fan about her marijuana usage, and she liked it and kept using it.
