"Let's all dance together, 'cause we all are italiaaaaaaaans!!"

I'm sick of people saying "She doesn't need to promote this album like Born This Way blah blah blah". That "hype" is one of the main reasons why Born This Way (single) slayed the charts and debuted at Number 1. EVERYONE was waiting for that song and once it was released it sold like hot cakes. It debuted at number one and stayed there for how many weeks? Exactly. Gaga said ARTPOP will be released before Spring of next year, which means it will be released in Winter of next year  (January or February). A lead singles life-span is normally 2-3 months. That being said... the single should drop around November or December. Gaga is not a "singles" artist. People will buy her entire album, knowing this she will probably release two singles before the album drops.

Done. :tea:

Why else would she talk about ARTPOP and release lyrics if we're not getting a single THIS year? :nacho:

Oh, and I don't understand the people, who want Candy Warhol to get back this era. If any personality of her needs a come-back this era, it's DerpGa :derpga: But seriously tho, I hope she does something legendary as DerpGa in this era too.

I'm not done just yet.

People need to chill with the Instrumental "leaks". Obviously it's fake. I'm not here for Garage band MacBook Pro productions.

This fan base should know better. ;) We do the most.

Born This Way (the album) was not "radio-friendly". Marry The Night "flopped" because it had lyrical metaphors the general public didn't understand and a majority of the idiots that listen to Top40 radio just want to hear about partying and s-x. You don't even understand how many people asked me "What does she mean by Marry the Night, I don't get it". Truth is Gaga is an artist and I rather have her grow as a musician/artist than stay basic and release mindless microwave pop music that will make "Number 1". I love that she has developed lyrically and sonically. If the general public can't appreciate her artistry than forget them. I rather have envelope pushing "ARTPOP" music like Heavy Metal Lover, Bloody Mary, Scheiße. I hope she doesn't sacrifice developing as an artist by trying to please the general public. #RantOver

Agreed. In an idealistic world, meaningful and complex songs would do just as well alongside party/club songs.

a hybrid can withstand these things

i love this lyrics and i know the exact subject matter of the entire song with them :tea:

I kind of hope that's the subtle, underlying theme of the album: reality v. fantasy, or contrasting dualities.

Alcina Dimitrescu

None of her eras have been "Illuminati" :lmao:

Gaga's or Kirsten Geary's? Because Kirsten Geary is a videogame character...and she's like Illuminati CEO, look it up.

And if you meant Gaga that's why I said the ARTPOP era

Rollercoaster

LOL @ "fukc the GP" :laughga:

Gaga can do artsy music, but at the end of the day, she wants to be remembered as a legend, she wants a monumental level of success - she can't afford to be doing quirky, seemingly random songs all the time that are a bit too offensive to dumbasses. In order to maintain a level of success, one must learn how to manipulate the industry like Gaga has. She will move in a slightly more commercial direction in order to get the percieved popularity that comes with chart success - but the main body of her work will always be artistically licenced.

And I can't believe nobody's noticed that Gaga's a fully fledged albums artist, very few people have album and single success at the same time. Gaga has phenomenal album sales - constantly phenomenal, this is shown in her tour sales. Singles serve to promote the album - she needs an excuse to appear on TV or perform at an awards show - nobody really buys singles tbh, it's all about albums.

Appealing to the GP at this point would be smart - because they'll buy the album after the singles, but it doesn't mean she needs to compromise her artistic integrity. TFM was the perfect balance, BTW went a little off the edge of the cliff, but the sales were still incredible due to building that fanbase that 'gets' her.

Interludicrous

It's all about quality. Unique songs aren't by definition non-commercial.

Just look at Bohemian Rhapsody, one of the most praised/legendary songs ever. It's very unique in it's structure and doesn't fit the mainstream format. IT EVEN HAS HEAVY RELIGIOUS IMAGERY (killing a man and ending up in purgatory, begging not to be sent to hell). It's very heavy in it's themes. Yet it's still considered to be one of the best songs ever. So people can come up with formula's for 'hit songs' all they want, but it's the core of the song that matters.

As long as Gaga writes quality songs with smart lyrics and melodies, things will work out, no matter how morbid or crazy the theme is.

Indeed. Many people didn't like Judas for heavy religious imagery. I think she should do the opposite - refference religious things without using religious terms or words, quotes, etc. But at the end of the day, it's just my crazy thougts about things that Gaga just can't change about herself :derpga:

The funny thing with Judas was that the religious symbolism wasn't really symbolic at all. It's still a symbolic song, but the religion was instead the symbolism for something else. I liked it, it's not done a lot in mainstream pop songs (if at all, usually the other way around) and Judas is a very smart song.

Kind of sad Judas wasn't taken too kindly.

obviously its a good song, but it really wasn't meant to be. OBVIOUSLy people don't want religion or anything like that on the radio. It doesn't matter if the religion was for something else. the word JUDAS was in the song and it had too much of a heavy metal vibe.

True. I think it also left a sour spot, no matter how small, on the fanbase also (because of its BR structure). I still think it's gonna be one of those songs we look back at as fans and think 'wow, that was a pretty decent song'. I just wish it made an impact lol.
