HORRORHOLIC

G.U.Y. is an ok song, it will do ok, fans will like it, but it's not gonna make much of an impact!!!

It doesn't show off her talents or the fact that she's not just another pop star the way songs like Aura, Mary Jane Holland  or Dope would have. I know the die hards love it, but at the end of the day, I really think it was the wrong song. It will do ok for now, but there is nothing about it that will make it really stand out!!

Anyone know why they removed VEVO banners?

I disagree. And here's why:

I think that G.U.Y, lyrically, is very clever. I also think that it has the potential to be quite controversial, as the playing with gender roles and new-wave feminism are quite provocative (especially considering that feminism is quite a hot-button issue right now).

I also think the production is very sleek and very s-xy. The song has a really nice electro groove and the hook is quite catchy.

I think this song, if anything is deceptively simple.

One of my favorite Gaga quotes is her talking about wanting to trick people into listening to something smart and I think that G.U.Y is a prime example of that.

(not to mention that the stunning video that accompanies it certainly doesn't hurt)

Still good since it hasn't even been released as a single yet. Regardless, Gaga has to build herself up again, sadly.

this, it isnt my fave on the album, but i think GUY has the perfect balance between Pop and experimental, if she plays her cards right it could be huge

Meh very average

It's actually above average. New music videos, upon the removal of the VEVO banners, hardly cross more than 8 million views on its first 24-hour period. One example would be Justin Timberlake's new music video for his latest single, which was sent to radio weeks before the video release and also got a TV premiere with a substantial buzz on social media. After four full days, that video has yet to cross 1 million views on VEVO/Youtube. Now, that's very average. Furthermore, the music video of Katy Perry's smash hit, Dark Horse, finished its first 24-hour period on VEVO with less than 4 million views. That's almost half of what Gaga has pulled for her single which has yet to crack the top 100 on iTunes and whose radio airplay is merely beginning. Is it really very average then?

not bad considering the video is a million hours long. good job  :)

I always wondered why the banners were taken off. Do you or anyone else happens to know why? I always thought they looked pretty.

No formal explanation was given, as far as I'm aware of. The assumption is just both parties ended this advertisement deal, hence possibly the removal of the banners.

That's still a good number, right?

Compared to the views of the latest music videos released, it's really good.

GUY is doing great if DH barely got over 5m in first 24hrs.

i guess when come to fanbase gaga still has much more hardcore fans .. just that she has less casual fans than perry now

Agreed. and if she and her management keep up the promotion train like they have been lately, I think that it could be a big hit.
