I followed views back then and both Just Dance and Poker Face had videos uploaded from random users all the time, but they were deleted because of copyright... videos with 30-40 million views were deleted monthly... she was HUGE!This. Totally. Gaga had the disadvantage of being huge right before VEVO was an established way of watching music videos. Though I'm still at a loss as to how her newer hit songs don't reach higher views. I at one point believed this too, because it says so on the video. And the answer is simple. People like Katy Perry and Rihanna came in at the right time with the right songs. They established themselves as "hit-makers" and people jumped on their wagon. While Gaga was releasing videos the likes of "The Edge of Glory" and "You and I," her contemporaries were releasing videos to smash hits like "ET" and "We Found Love." 2011/2012 was an absolutely crucial time in developing their social media presence and that happens to be when Gaga dropped the ball. Don't expect huge amount of views until Gaga is back doing real video (not studio videos)...Gaga has only released 16 videos in 7 years. Rihanna may be the most watched artist on Vevo, but she's releasing a lot of videos without being totally absent. Contrary to Gaga she has no long blackout without doing anything.
