Stop complaining ARTPOP is plantium now :legend:

actually we SHOULD be complaining. the rule is not applied to old albums so that makes me FUME that ARTPOP's numbers could've doubled but they won't be.

This new rule :rip:

It really bothers me. Billboard should stick to tracking sales only. This goes for songs as well.

I don't actually mind new rule. Streaming is future (and present) of music. One of the mean reasons why sales decayed is popularisation of streaming, so I don't see why there is problem with this

i'm against this new Billboard rule.

they're favorising popular bands/artists in detriment of álbum sellers (fan favorites and indie artists)

Adding singles sales/streaming to album sales  :deadbanana: Why make 2 charts if so ? That's so stupid...
Can't we make a petition or smth like that against this (as if we had some power i know...)

Watch record labels REALLY start fighting against streaming becoming THIS important.  Even Apple is thinking about doing it's own label and their ambition is that all the artists who are under them are not going to be represented on Spotify (and apparently Apple is fighting for/wants only big names like Beyonce, Timberlake etc so that all this can actually have an impact).

Sorry, it's off-topic, I know.

It would be interesting if a number of high-profile artist teamed up against spotify

I wonder what the long-term effect would be

They won't, lol.

Streaming is the solution and it's good for everybody.

The singers that retire their songs from spotify do it just for renegociate their contracts with their labels and took more percentage from the streams. World is going streaming cause it's the solution for a bigger music industry and a healthier too.

No. Just no.

It is true in a way sis, think about it.... Spotify is free and pays the artist... downloading illegally is free but doesn't give the artist any money.... I mean its best if people just buy the music but that is obviously not going to happen so Spotify is probably the better solution
