The new Billboard 200 upgrade looks bad. Now every singles artists is instantly an album seller. Time for Katy to be a diamond chanteuse

Edit: Oops I didn't see there was already a thread for that

yes sir, if u say so  :fan:

....should linger longer in the upper rungs. Ariana Grande’s “My Everything,†for example, which opened at No. 1 in September, was No. 36 on last week’s chart, with 10,000 sales. Under the new formula, it would have been No. 9....

this is so sad I can't  :duck:

Nov. 30 will be the Official date of the decay of album sales. Idk I'm really not happy about this new rule it's going to have the same effect when they added streaming into the single few years back .... sales in general wont have power anymore every artist will be multi-platinum single/album seller it's like the titles will become meaningless. uuugh I could write a whole essay on that but there's no point the word has gone mad today ....  :fail:

The good thing about this rule is that Gaga wont have any flops/not-platinum albums anymore  :derpga:

The Billboard Year-End tracking period ends with today's published charts. Next week's charts will now begin to count for 2015's YECs.

with new rule right now 1989 would have had 12,8k additional sales only from BS's streaming alone :madge:

The new rule universally serves no point, but it is true that it doesn't represent the state of the music very well the way it is, adding streaming since its now become a huge part of the music business will help represent it much better

The new rule includes both streaming and single sales, right? Like 100m streams = 100k albums and 10m singles = 1m albums, right?

Edit: Oh. 150m streams not 100m
