You don't have to be like that...

I live in the country music state. My first concert was Garth Brooks when I was very young.

Been following country music for longer than you have been alive. Country artists are proud of these things! It is the culture of this particular genre of music....always has been. (well, the baseball cap, bro-country wave is fairly new)

This is SO amazing

charts.spotify.com

you can now check the demos of people

Spotify seems dominated by people of both s-xes from 18-24 years old.

Interestingly, Shake It Off has a way higher percentage of male listeners than the avg song, and her percentage of 0-17 year old listeners is way lower than the avg song :omg:

This Is How We Do, on the other hand, is about 75% female and has a WAY higher percentage of 0-17 year old listeners than the average song, only higher with 5SOS. I think we can honestly consider Katy to be a Teenpop artist.

You are comparing a Katy flop to a Taylor hit.

Katy would not be so dominant on Adult Contemporary radio in North America if she was merely teen pop.

This is a country show...can't you tell? Haven't you noticed all the women with big hair and tacky dresses and the guys with boots, cowboy hats or baseball hats? And all the songs about beer, Jack Daniels and trucks?

No worse than the urban-rap hip-hop dress code, which is just as stereotypical and unchanging.

In other news, Sinead O'Connor's Vatican Holiday Christmas album (produced by Michael Schimmel) is said to feature some of the angriest caroling ever. (11/5a)

Hark Ye Sexually Abusive Priests, and other radfem faves.

Not sure what this has to do with anything, since we are in no way discussing hip-hop or rap music. The CMAs are on tonight and that stands for Country Music Awards...which has absolutely nothing to do with your comment.

If you bothered to read my next comment, you would see that I didn't saw it was "bad", so there is no contest over which is "worse" here. Country Music is proud of its roots and traditions, which includes its songs on that center around certain subjects and a certain dress that has been around since the beginning of country music.
