Onika Tanya Maraj (born December 8, 1982), is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, actress, and television personality. After success with three mixtapes released between 2007 and 2009, Minaj signed to Young Money Entertainment. Minaj's debut studio album Pink Friday (2010) peaked at number one on the US Billboard 200 and was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Raikov 183 Posted January 3, 2014 Share Posted January 3, 2014 They're not albums, but you should mention her mixtapes somewhere in the thread. It's basically like three albums' worth of material. Listening to Roman Reloaded (haven't done Re-Up yet and don't have Pink Friday), I've grown to like her. Her rap stuff, that is. The pop half of RR is okay but definitely on the generic/forgettable side. I wish she'd write about stuff that's a bit more... meaningful, I guess? Bragging is fun and all that, but I'd love to see her tackle a topic other than Lil Kim. The closest she's come on RR at least is Champion, the idea that her triumph is a triumph for the ghetto.
