Her song 'Donatella' tells otherwise. :awkney:

Edit: Okay people, I get it. They're tongue-in-cheek. But how is the average listener going to know that? It's not like every listener actually cares/knows about the meanings. Plus doesn't she say in her song 'Fashion', "I live, to be model thin, dress me, I'm your mannequin"?

This is Gaga. You don't get it apparently

But...ugh. As if looking good was a bad thing. All of us should strive to be the best us we can be, and that includes looks as well.

I hope you know that Donatella is totally tongue in cheek and plays with all the stereotypes about her and Donatella herself.

I honestly do not think Donatella is tongue cheek. It's a song about embracing who you are regardless of what society thinks is good, etc.

Lady Gaga said it's a love letter to Donatella.

“‘Donatella‘ is my love letter to Donatella [Versace],†she told Just Jared on Friday afternoon about the 58-year-old Italian fashion designer. “The song is an incredible crazy fun pop song with really raising electronic beats that I did with [producer] Zedd. It’s about being a fearless female and not caring what people say about you – being proud of who you are and walking the walk no matter what.â€

All those things said in the chorus(as well as the choruses) are not tongue cheek, but seem to be from a perspective of Donatella, then switches to Gaga's perspective when she "Cuz she walks so bad"

Donatella is known to smoke all day, she is a b---h in good way, she is apart of the upperclass, these are not just perceptions of society, but also known traits and aspects of Donatella. But Gaga is admiring how Donatella is not afraid to be proud that she's skinny, that she's blonde, that she's a b---h, that she's smokes all day even though society has a tendency to look down at those like Donatella and those who are of the extreme upperclass and are proud of it.

Ya know, cause there is this double standard within society. If a rich person is proud of these possessions and their life, they come across as greedy, obnoxious, ridiculous, etc. They come along as if they flaunting or showing off to everybody. However if a poor person is proud of their possessions and life, they're looked up upon for realizing their self-worth and the good they've got.

That being said Creyk is right. We were blessed with sight, and our bodies are temples, complex beautiful masterpieces. There is no problem focusing on your image or trying to look good IN YOUR OWN PERSPECTIVE, as long as it's not your main focus in life.

ALSO lol, I think it's well known Gaga can be a hypocrite at times. But c'mon guys, who in this world is isn't. No one completely practices what they preach. However,  It's awesome she is spreading this message, but I'm pretty sure Gaga still may have her times where she wishes she looked different, or perhaps was skinnier, etc. WE ALL DO haha. It's difficult for most to be completely content with themselves to the point where they have no desire to change anything about them

That's the listener's problem -_- not Gaga's.

Nobody is gonna take a line like that seriously but moreso a parody on fashion and supermodels itself,,.,,.
