Why did Gaga stop working with Fernando Garibay?

I would imagine the sound and feel of ARTPOP developed significantly during her 'blackout' period after the BTWB finished. Garibay was probably producing some of the early discarded tracks with Gaga, but the project moved in another direction and his tracks are hence amongst the ones cut.

I also get the impression Gaga really wanted to leave Born This Way behind. That era has so many negative reminders for her (d--g relapse, alcohol, hip break etc).. so it could have been a concious decision to distance herself from Garibay who was a big part of the BTW album process.

I think she wanted to try different producers. But Garibay is easily the best producer she's worked with.

My guess is that Interscope and her management wanted a different feel for the album and dropped the original concept for ARTPOP, which he was a apart of. Who knows he could have some of those old productions on ACT II.

This. Garibay produced Partynauseous and if they were on bad terms she wouldn't be playing it at the ARTPOP ball. Interscope probably wanted a different tone from the album because BTW was 90% Garibay's sound, and many agreed that it was a decline in her music.

If he could produce something as magical and amazing as Dance in the Dark and Heavy Metal Lover, then I want I'm back. And no . I didn't forget The Edge of Glory. I just so happen to not like that song.

Whats with all you hoes bashing the flawless Fernando

- Dance in the Dark is easily on of the best track on TFM, second to Bad Romance

-He was responsibile from some of the most forward thinking tracks on BTW i.e Government Hooker, Marry The Night, Bloody Mary, Heavy Metal Lover etc. His style would have fit just fine on ARTPOP in the same way DJWS did. Redone on the other hand. Unlikely.

The real reason their not working together is because it was his personal choice. I remember seeing interviews around the time of BTW's release where he expressed how hard it was making it as he was essentially in charge of the entire project and had to make all the changes gaga demanded. Shes a huge perfectionist and demanded he make multiple versions of the same track till she was satisfied. He also talked about barely getting any sleep, having to travel around the world with gaga etc. It was a huge life changing experience (and lets not forget gaga started making ARTPOP the day after BTW was released) so i guess he decided to pass on the next project and take a well needed break, letting DJWS take the reigns who was clearly still up for the ride. They appear to be on good terms (they follow each other on twitter) and its definitely still  likely they will work again in the future.

DJWS produced Government Hooker and Bloody Mary, I thought.

They worked together as a threesome. The Banditos. Heavy Metal Lover+ Marry The Night was primarily him though..

He's a lot more versatile than people on here are giving him credit for tbh. Y'all should check out more than his songs with Gaga. He would have done just fine on ARTPOP. I hope they can still make music together in the future.

I think they worked together, he just didn't make the album.

This sounds like it could have been him. I think this also played at the Versace show, yeah?

He and T-Minus must have co-produced it. Which is interesting. I saw his video of it, but back when it was supposed to be released T-Minus did an interview with MTV about it.

Just because his songs didn't make the final ARTPOP cut doesn't mean they're not friends yet or something. He produced Partynaouseous in fact, it just wasn't released.

Co-produced with T-Minus.

Because everyone kept saying his songs on BTW were noisy and overproduced and basically used him as a reason for Gaga's declining popularity in the charts.

Hilarious that fans are now saying the same about ARTPOP and DJWS, they never learn

Not saying this was the reason, but Gaga must've read all that bull**** since she still came on GGD back then and subconsciously reserved herself from working with Garibay too much.

I imagine that before BTW dropped fans also wanted her to move on from Redone and explore working with new producers, but now they're foaming at the mouth for Redone.

In general, Gaga should just ignore her fans if she isn't already doing so. Just a bunch of twinks who only "stan" for what's popular anyway.

You are correct. They all think they know best what Gaga should do or who she should work with; first they wanted her to abandon RedOne, then Garibay (they were particularly horrible about him), now DJWS they are trying to say isn't up to par. An era later, they want them back. Can't please them.
