Psychedelic 1,098
That would make a lot of sense! Something drastic happened between 2009 and 2011 2010 might just be the most mysterious Britney year, even more so than 2007. It made fierce Circusney into awkward FemmeFatalney
WH0RE 1
i just want her to move to Britain (like shes always dreamed of) with a boyfriend who she actually loves and raise her kids there, write music and have fun and maybe make a lowkey acoustic comeback after a few years, maybe get married aswell. She needs to be released from that ****ing conservatorship too
Valextra 58
I remember that video, now she's definitely ok compared to that period, she was never full recovered during the 'Circus' era, they didn't allow her to take a pause, I hope that now she is more relaxed. Slayer 9,227
I think there's probably a lot going on behind the scenes that we don't know about. I suspect she has bipolar disorder. A lot of what she did in 2007 shows signs of that. I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!!

MonsterMarty 96
breakdown or not, Britney is probably the most iconic pop singer after Madonna in history I'll assume you meant female with this. Madonna isn't even close to the level of iconography of Michael Jackson. OT: I sort of wonder about right now. She seemed very into the Residency (at least from vids I saw of the early shows) so perhaps she's happy with how that project has gone. She's completed her record deal so beyond her Vegas deal she doesn't have anything major over her obligation-wise. I will say this - Britney of 2008 was not the stable Brit some of you seem to remember. Her Z100 interview (basically her first interview post-2007ney) was super awkward and very "cool, yes cool" level stuff. For The Record was extremely edited, lets not kid ourselves about that "documentary." Though I suppose when she was just getting back out there, it's unfair to expect too much. Obviously things went south quick as 2010 was ending but during the Circus tour she had the Merry Christmas thing and went insane when that guy jumped onto the stage during one of the New England shows - she wasn't in that fierce a place at all. I think what probably triggered things the most (I know I couldn't possibly know) is how the conservatorship became essentially a permanent hold over. It was originally there to help her and also protect her, now it's there to force her to comply to her business deals to the extent that they're as lucrative as possible. X-Factor was a terrible idea, so was pushing those quicky FF promo sit downs in Europe. I think it's fair to say Britney was damaged beyond repair from what she went through in 2007/2008 and the fallout from it... but at the back of it, it's propelled her career to success again with Circus. Now I agree with everyone saying winding down is the best thing to do, even her biggest fan site has become a general one because they're getting the retirement teas. Whatever she does next, I really hope it's what she wants to do and it makes her happy. She's earned enough money and fame to last several lifetimes. Houdini 103
[....] Yes I was talking about female artist. And yes Michael had a more iconic image, but Madonna's imagery was very huge and iconic too. For Britney, she was the very first pop female solo artist to reach a comparable success as Madonna did. She was HUGE from 1998 to 2004. From that laps of time, she released hits that will always attached to pop history. Even after her 2007 meltdowns, she made successful albums and tours. Her residency show is successful as well too. She was really the new face of pop music as Lady Gaga is now from late 2000's.
