MARIAH CAREY – All I Want For Christmas Is…: 41.264 (+ 1.140)

BRENDA LEE – Rockin’ Around The Christmas..: 37.709 (- 0.039)

BOBBY HELMS – Jingle Bell Rock: 36.774 (+ 0.298)

BURL IVES – Have A Holly Jolly Christmas: 36.564 (+ 0.132)

NAT KING COLE – The Christmas Song: 35.876 (+ 1.549)

KELLY CLARKSON – Underneath The Tree: 16.261 (+ 0.551)

These Holiday-themed songs are getting a sizeable share of overall airplay. Have it not been December at this time, DWUW and the other singles out there would have received far better updates.

the freeze is definitely starting ..

other monster songs are still getting big updates ...

DWUW is losing only some spins compared to other songs .. that's good at least .. for a song at #18 on itunes

The Monster only got +0.020 tho.

But it's strange that one day DWUW gets +1m updates and another -0.1m. It should be more stable.

AIWFCIY is at 40m AI? Why it doesn't appear on kworb then?

Interscope has literally f**** up this ERA

No, they haven't. I just looked at Pink's The Truth About Love era, the first single was an Applause-sized hit, the album debuted with ~550k first-week WW - just like ARTPOP, the second single peaked at #9 and wasn't a huge hit - just like DWUW will be, the album sold 140k during Black Friday week WW - just like ARTPOP. Biggest difference is that Gaga's main support is from Japan while Pink's is from Australia/NZ. After a moderate hit and an underperforming second single, she had a smash 3rd single and the album has now sold 5 mil.

I made a graph for the era, to see how much singles drive album sales.

Look carefully at the underperforming second single in the christmas season, which made its sales a lot worse in that season. The big jump in week 8 is because of Black Friday sales, week 11/12 is mainly thanks to christmas. What also shows is that a single shouldn't be released too fast after a previous single, because having 2 songs on radio doesn't affect your album sales that much compared to 1 big song, and you risk flopping - see True Love. The album sold 80-100k for the biggest part with no promotion thanks to a huge single, which is all that's needed. I am confident that we can see a familar chartrun for ARTPOP if Gypsy becomes a big hit, and ARTPOP could end up outselling TTAL with a big fourth single.

This is amazing and it would be more amazing if it happened the same with ARTPOP, but I don't know, I see JGAR a more GP-friendly song than Gypsy.

I think DWUW will DEFINITELY peak higher than #9 tho! I even think it will be bigger than Applause eventually...

Does kworb include Christmas songs? I just checked it out and noticed the lack of it in their chart. I don't know but I rarely use kworb for radio updates, compared to the ones from Mediabase.

I use kworb only because I never know how to look at the updates on Mediabase.

And also I have one question, which is the best time of the day to request? Because it's 2PM here but I think it's like 8AM in the USA, so I don't really know if this is the best moment.

I don't think you can predict huge hits like jgmar..

We can see it coming. Sometimes we overestimate or underestimate an artist, but most of us saw The Monster coming, and think Dark Horse will be one of the biggest hits of the first quarter in 2014. I think that Gypsy has the potential to be a very successful song with the right planning, promotion and quality.

I'm with you on this!

Gypsy is a true radio song, the lyrics are okay, the MV can be very fun and colorful, and acoustic performances slay!!!
