VforVendetta 2,024
It's just a hit. Yes, whatever In the end Its not something someone shouldn't feel proud about.
chris777 112
Madonna's GMAYL hardly reached 600K, both Applause and (even) Judas **** all over it sales-wise. If you're going to compare it with a Gagz single, take MTN. it had a very similar chart run to Judas in the US
vertigostick 2,451
it had a very similar chart run to Judas in the US But the SALES were much lower. THE SALES, sis!
Whispering 18,865
Guys, what could be done so the sales to increase? Where is Gaga? What is she doing. Does she even care? She has worked on this album for 2 years and now its dying so fast Same answer as last week: release a third single, start promoting it, release the video that accompanies it and the tour. That 3rd single is going to be important for album sales and so is a successful tour.

StarryNight 10,106
Perhaps she could do a bunch of radio interviews in the first week? Like the 20 biggest radio stations (HAC, Pop, AC) in the country? That could make the airplay rise a little. Or she could do a radio deal for the first 2 days? iTunes payola first 4 weeks to keep it Top 5? She could do that in many countries tbh. Singles don't sell that much in European markets, but iTunes is the biggest way for radios to see which song to play. Anything to get some great exposure to make it go Top 5 for a few weeks and pick up on airplay Let's say this: January 31 Venus made album-only, single version for pre-order February 14 US Release February 14~May 14 commercial airing WW (we all know how much it did for Applause in the US and DWUW in Europe) February 14~February 21 radio interviews in the US February 14~28 US iTunes banners February 15 US Talkshow performance/interview February 21 US Talkshow performance/interview February 25 US performance February 28 WW release February 28-March 14 WW iTunes banners March 2 Video release March 2 Performance in the US at w/e show March 5 UK release March 7 UK talkshow March 8~9 visit 5 radio stations in the UK March 10 France talkshow March 10 France radio interviews March 11 German talkshow March 11 Germany radio interviews March 12 Australia release March 13 Performance in Australia March 15 Radio interviews in Australia March 19 Performance in Australia March 22 Performance in South Korea (Inkigayo) March 25 Performance in South Korea March 26-27 Radio interviews in South Korea March 30 Japan performance April 2 Japan performance April 5 Australia performance+1 radio interview April 10 US performance I took random dates and performances, I didn't even think about what day the things are but it comes down to: - WW commercial - 4 performances in the US - radio interviews+performances in the UK, Australia, Germany, France, South Korea, Japan - iTunes banners - slay That's how a single era should go in my opinion. Constant interviews, performances #LucGaganewmanager tbh

That 3rd single is going to be important for album sales and so is a successful tour. Is touring that important for album sales? Like, I haven't been a chartwatcher long enough to see it. But would it boost total sales by like 100k if she performed in front of 400k people in the US?
Paper Gangsta 6,693
mostly because Gaga came from a very successful era Madeon had superbowl promo. And Judas era was cut to half. And still Judas sold almost double

WIsh Gags all the best but I dont think that there is a song left on ARTPOP that could smash
VforVendetta 2,024
it had a very similar chart run to Judas in the USYes it did. GMAYL was a modera hit though. I can gurantee you that many remember it still today. I don't know if it was the Superbowl but the song didn't flop on the US. It flopped considering that it had a Superbowl performance but as a song overall it wasn't a flop. It did what every single has to do, have impact. The same with Judas that everyone remembers still today and many more love even if they are afraid to say it because of its controversy. Madeon had superbowl promo. And Judas era was cut to half. And still Judas sold almost doubleI think that GMAYL has sold similar to Judas on the US.
Luc 4,775
#LucGaganewmanager tbh I think that the profit wouldn't be higher than the costs of everything though. GMAYL had a 1,5M video and Super Bowl promotion, but only sold like 2M WW  GMAYL is a bigger hit than Applause outside the US though. Madeon had superbowl promo. And Judas era was cut to half. And still Judas sold almost double Madeon

Essence 235
Applause is not a big hit guys, stop :( But It's at least Iconic for what it is. At least here in Los Angeles, it is. CONSTANTLY playing on the radio and everybody knows the song. In fact I hear people talking about it more than I did during Born This Way.
