We are not yet totally in the Christmas sentiment, so a little controversy isnt that bad at the moment. Next week : maybe. In January : if u ask me, I think its too risky, but if they can manage to find a way to keep the interest on this, it will be ok. No January is not a good idea. The video will support the song in the freeze and will re-introduce it the new year. And a new, hot & fresh video during Holiday Is everything ... She Is already doing bad album wise because of no single In top 10 and no buzz etc.. 1 video can change a lot ... I think that they are already making a mistake by not releasing the video today .. let alone January Have the MV been released during the post-AMA week, then we wouldn't even need to discuss this dilemma. But seriously, if we're not getting the MV in two weeks' time, then the remix with Rick Ross should somehow fill that void of promotional push until the post-Holiday season. I feel like this song has all the indications of a massive hit yet it's not getting enough support, maybe she really doesn't care about charts anymore. Plus sales in January are huge like 500k+ if you're at a high peak. I understand what you mean, but the video in my opinion for January it's late, think also at the European market where Christmas songs are not so influent, here DWUW is in the top10 or close in the most important countries, and we definitely need the music video, in January she will do other promo, but the video in my opinion has to come out now in these days... DWUW was released to radio In 3-4 November right ? It's already been 1 month ... The video Is already late .. 3 weeks after the radio Impact Is perfect .. although It depends from the situation, but January the song will be dead .. And what about the album sales ... If they screw up the 2nd Single .. ARTPOP will probably fail to hit platinum status In the USA .. BTW Why there Isn't a MultiQuote button anymore :( Is It Impossible with the new theme or ? Applause peaked 2.5 months after the song was released and It was a minor Hit, let alone DWUW that Is still only at 50-60M AI... I think we can all agree on that. If they shall choose next week, then I guess I've to accept that the song would face more competition for that top five spot with the post-Grammy concert sales boost.
