Taylor Swift and Eminem are selling massive amounts, and even Adele, who had no real fan base before 21, sells millions. I think Gaga simply overestimated the album.

Two weeks does not indicate the overall success this album will get.

This is standard for the most part now... large drop in the 2nd week. But they usually stablizie somewhat after the second week for the big artists and she will likely sell more next week due to AMAs and other such promo.

And with more promo sure to come and the DWUW video, she will be fine. It'll take longer to reach 1 million sold in the US but it will happen.

My prediction that if singles 2 and 3 at least do well, ARTPOP can sell around 1.5 million in the US. And then after Act II comes it can possibly push this album to 2 million

Well, I don't give a flip about sales, but if this is happening all across the board, it could be partly due to an economy that's been in the crapper for years - all over the world.  Entertainment is normally the first thing to go.  People are just cutting back on expenses.  I bet it's happening with movies too.

Down 82% from first week suggests 82% fans (bought it first week), 18% non-fans (bought it each week)

Is that better or worse than if it was down 18% from 18% fans and 82% non-fans?

I'd rather see the 80% drop after first week numbers like BTW or even MDNA for that matter, but whatever, i am sure it will stabalize now, especially with Christmas shopping coming up....
