Princess Zelda 720
You're actually surprised by this? No Light, No Light video is amazing just like her album & the Shake It Out video. Well I never expected Florence to be dragged into it. Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Bieber, sure. But Flo? And I agree . i don't really listen to her/their music but she/they performed on xfactor australia and omg the lead singer is very very talented! Yes she is!

Henryy 11
Her performance on X-Factor Australia last week - not as good as UK version but still good. But look how nervous and cute she is afterwards. "Is this an X-Factor exclusive?" "I don't know" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AECSi9ebwVI Edited November 19, 2011 by HML
Eloquence 2
Whoever did her makeup for that performance needs to go. But flawless vocals.
notsniw 1
She's getting mainstream . She's getting mainstream success, but she's still keeping her style. It's a good thing that she gets mainstream recognition.
GarageGlamorous 0
I'm starting to stan again after the NLNL video. She needs to get her ass down to Texas, 6 US tour dates just will not do. :nono: Edited November 19, 2011 by GarageGlamorous
alposnacks 1
Question: In a lot of recent reviews I've seen comments about religious overtones in her work. I think VH1 stated that the NL,NL video was an "obvious" metaphor for being saved by Christ. The baffling thing is I've always seen Flo's music as extremely secular, to the point where it seems she is intentionally avoiding theistic themes. Her music is heavily influenced by gospel obviously, but the actual content never struck me as overtly religious. Most of it seems to be about self-salvation. Is this what you guys get out of it, or are there actually religious overtones?
Baby Loves To 0
Well she went to a Catholic school, and I remember an interview in the very early days (2007/8) where she said a lot of her songs "deal with guilt - it's a Catholic thing!", but I don't think she is really religious. I think she is influenced by it a lot, though, like she likes the ideas and iconography. I actually find a lot to do with religion in her songs but not in a preachy, Christian-band way. This quote from her sums it up pretty well: “I don’t think of myself as religious,†she said, “but on the next album I’m moving toward the intensity and passion of heaven and hell, revelation and retribution, that kind of battle. The first album was more about flesh. This is about light.†

DylanB 1
I like the concept for the No Light, No Light video but the execution was poor. If you are going to fall off a building and through glass in a video, make it look good.

If you are going to fall off a building and through glass in a video, make it look good. She doesn't have a huge budget. A 3 second shot of a watch won't buy you Avatar-level CGI. It was fine imo. Oh and her live performance definitely proves it's "issues drawn." One of several lyrical mysteries solved. :spin: Edited November 19, 2011 by alposnacks
