If I had to think about all that before I uttered a syllable, I'd never speak.Β  :smh:

Β

But really, I don't have many problems with any of that, my parents raised me well.Β  Parents.Β  I know, what a novel idea.

See the problem is her own fans are making fun of her and calling her a flop, ESPECIALLY on here

This is quite alarming, if you ask me. At first, it was funny and nothing to be taken serious, but now, monsters are taking it too far...

Surely, this is just a forum where monster shares the humors. But what about Gaga? She may think that it is nothing, but reality, she is thinking that you are bashing her and trying to break her heart?

But then again, it'd a forum.where people have strong senses of humor.

It crosses the line when it becomes consistent and cruel, but a little harmless shade never hurt anyone lol

When it's every single day, yes

Β

I see. Β The problem with this is, it's a fan forum and there's a ton of people here. Β Some people don't really want to pretend everything she does is flawless, so of course there would be some people who say she's not selling well, and some would use humor and say "flop" (maybe sometimes in an anger way), but I guess that's the price you have to pay for having a popular forum. :ohwell:

And WTF at all you guys bashing this? We're a ****ing fansite. Gaga is asking people to be KIND before they post something online, and you're already going DIRECTLY against what she's saying.

Ridiculous.

Are those warning points i smell coming their way?Β

Β

I actually like this, but I feel that gaga is trying to change A LOT of things in the industry (even within her own fan base) that probably, will never change like airbrushing/photoshopping, media hatred...etc. But, she gets an A for effort.Β

Part of me wants to ban all the mean people from this site, even if that cut our user base in half. Β

Β

It would be a happier site with more sharing and communication and love. Β People would feel free to post their ideas and feelings without fear of being dragged because whatever they said wasn't cool.

Β

But another part of me wants to keep the mean people here so that we can reach them and help them, and maybe then they'll think twice before blasting someone on Twitter.

Β

I'm just trying to change the world, one mean person at a time. Β  ;)

Β

Β

Keep 'em. Β The only way we could quote "convert" them is if they stayed here and we discuss with them in a polite manner (not post gifs saying "bye" or just plane out disagreeing with them with "No :awkney:". Β I think we need to talk to them and tell them to tone it down, or if they get too out of hand, ban them straight up, because obviously they would be poison to the site and do nothing, but complain. Β Just how I feel it.. :ohwell:

I really respect this and appreciate her devotion to this but it's really not going to do much. The internet has never been a safe wonderful place. It's great she posted this because it will no doubt convince some of her fans to think before they post something but at the same time there will always be hatred throughout the internet. People are entitled to their own opinions whether it be harsh or nice. It's been like this since the 90s and hasn't changed much so I don't think it will be any different ten years from now unless the internet gets more restricted.

Β

the problem is people take their reactions to the extreme on the net. Β So nobody would ever walk up to another person in public, or the singer of a band, and say "your work is terrible, you are full of ****, and I hope you die." Β They would either say nothing or they would say it in a much different way. Β So why can't that same level of social interaction exist on the internet? Β People say **** just because they don't have to worry about repercussions so they amplify everything. Β It's idiotic. Β In real life people temper their inner-asshole, mostly because if you talked like that in real life you'd be subject to a physical altercation. not so much on the net.

Exactly, internet bullying is too big of an issue to tackle and expect immediate change.

Even for Gaga. There's going to have to.take way more than a LM.com post to change the internet..

Β

so what, everyone should just not do anything then? Β you always work for the long term.

how gay of her :laughga:

Love her :flutter:

Β

90% of the people that throw hate Gaga's way on twitter and video comments, blog comments, and forums are probably Gay pop fans.

Β

so I'd say it's not very gay of her.

Β

hate is not gay or straight. Β Wanting kindness is not either.

I don't agree with statements like "you can't change bad behavior on the internet".

Β

It's similar to historic arguments like "you can't get rid of racism in the south" or "you'll never get soldiers to accept gays" or "women will never be equals in the boardroom" or "my one vote won't determine the election" etc.

Β

I struggled with this concept when I became old enough to vote, because I've never heard of an election being decided by a single vote, so I knew that if I personally did not vote, it would not change anything. Β My vote, by itself, does not matter. Β And yet, if everyone took that same lazy and selfish view as me, it really would matter. Β

Β

Even if you are only 1 person, you have to act as if you were a million, because in a very real sense you are. Β If just 1 of us can stand up to internet hate, then a million of us can, and it WILL change!

Β

I predict a future were either Twitter no longer allows users to be anonymous, or Twitter will be replaced by something else. Β Just like Facebook replaced MySpace because MySpace became too much of a hot mess. Β  I also predict that Twitter will have a system where users have to prove they can tweet responsibility for a period of time before their tweets can be seen by the world. Β Or maybe Twitter just bans people who can't tweet responsibly. Β

Β

Change is coming, an me and my million others are going to be a part of it! Β :sara:
