Mariano 958 Posted November 22, 2013 Share Posted November 22, 2013 lol um the further it falls the harder it is to rise into the top 10, so it does matter well yeah, I meant to say that If It wasn't performed at SNL It would probably still be getting dark green updates, but with the SNL boost the song grew faster on Itunes, and I think now It's being steady .. It won't fall from top 20 (unless It's being pushed by new songs) but look at the numbers .. They are way better than they were before SNL ... I don't think the updates matter that much .. Look at what Royals' success has done for Pure Heroin. Gaga needs a big hit song in order to sell the album and she doesn't have one at the moment. Well, I'm afraid that ARTPOP just won't sell well in the end. We're all thinking about longetivity and all, but truth is, this era will most likely be mostly about the tour doing well and singles doing well. The album is just too diverse for somebody to like all of it. I think that everybody besides some hardcore fans like every song on the album, and not because it's a bad song, but it just doesn't fit what they like (for example, person 1 likes Urban and R&B, he's not going to buy the album because only 2 songs on it fit his taste, person 2 likes EDM, only Aura, Swine and perhaps Donatella fit his taste, person 3 likes mainstream pop, and only Applause, Donatella, Fashion, GUY and Gypsy fit that, person 4 likes ballads, and only Gypsy and DOPE fit that). If that's gone too I don't know what's going to happen. This is why commercial performance is important.
