Hell, even Xtina handled the Bionic backlash better than Gaga is right now, and that was easily much harsher than what Gaga is facing right now. HA, Katy doesn't have a drop of the negative articles that Gaga has. Please! When Katy's numbers came out, the media painted it in the best light possible. There's no comparison between the outright lies that the media is picking up from that ridiculous Examiner article and anything that has ever been printed about Katy. Enjoy what you've got Sure we have high expectations for Gaga, but I don't think people seriously think she's tanking beyond all ends to the point of career failure. It's really silly she thinks everyone views her that way.. Especially the general public. Most people still see her arguably as the biggest star in the world. Idk, it all just needs to get under control. I have no idea whats going on behind the scenes and what not, but I mean.. it all needs to end LOL. All of it. Just.. Focus. AMAs are in a few days. Last week was SNL week. Before that was Artrave, Howard Stern, radio interviews and promo in the UK. This week is Canadian promo and the AMAs. Plus, she filmed her video somewhere in there. She then has Ellen and then promo in other countries. The Thanksgiving special isn't live, so she had to have spent a few days filming that at some point. What promotional opportunities do you suggest she do at this exact time to turn things around? When is she supposed to squeeze in more promo and which promo will bring in big numbers? It's just a classic case of an artist opening themselves up to criticism, thereby creating a market for negative articles. Sites are just looking for hits, so if an artist is controversial/out-spoken they'll take any chance they can get to write an article about them. No one writes articles about Katy cause very few readers would have any interest, Katy doesn't do anything controversial or outspoken. This whole era has been born out of a deep insecurity, and it's both sad and frustrating to watch happen. I'm sure the criticism is incredibly hard to put up with, and I'm sure it takes a toll on performers. But it's inevitable. Especially when you've reached the heights Gaga has. She's going to have to get a thicker skin if she expects to keep plugging along as a megastar. And she's going to have to start learning more constructive and level-headed ways of responding to the backlash, or else her responses are just going to generate even more backlash in turn.
