Kayla 7,595
I think there was more to this skit than Gaga making fun of herself. Remember how back in 2009, people were talking about the "death of Lady Gaga," the "downfall of Lady Gaga," so she did the performance at the 2009 VMAs to say "You want to see what it's like when I die? Here you go!" and people stopped talking about it. She gave them what they claimed to want and shut them up. Now, people have been talking about Gaga's fall from Fame. How she's being forgotten, can't sell records, etc. etc. So she did the skit to say "Fine? You think I'm being forgotten? Here's what it looks like when Lady Gaga is forgotten!" And look at the responses: Places where fans were once complaining about Gaga falling from pop culture relevance became places where fans were saying "We'll never forget you Gaga!", "When you're 80 and I'm 70 I'll still be listening to your albums!", etc. etc. She showed people how ridiculous their claims were by acting out what they were saying, and proved to them that they were wrong, and made the fans want to stick by her instead of degrade her with the haters. It was ****ing brilliant and done with purpose.

pieces of eight 0
Yes, my favorite sketch of the night. Brilliantly put together and convincingly acted by Gaga. The critics seem to agree.
