llbcherry 591
Still arguing, I see. I agree with the sentiment about being less than enthused to be part of this community. Not that I will leave. I like the news and info, but no wonder these other fanbases hate us so much. Lots of ugliness. :( Makes me sad. It'll be ok. She's a force. And we've only just begun. DriverMonster 10
I HOPE you are right. I want huge success for her always. I love her but I still say no. None of the singles will go to number 1 and it won't outsell BTW. Trust me. We will talk about it after the era is over. Come on. ARTPOP is way better than BTW and way more GP friendly. I think that what is affecting her is the blackout and also her image seemed a little bit affected by the BTW era. I think she will sell well and I also think she'll sell more than BTW in the long run

Cameron Dallas 11
I think the sales will grow little by little within the next few months. The first week sales are basically little monsters' purchases, once the public hears the songs through promo and word of mouth, the sales MAY grow
brizoda 3,856
Im starting to really hate being a part of the online Little Monsters community, it seems that the majority of fans would rather Gaga have mainstream success over a more creative and artistic product. Think of David Bowie or Grace Jones, their music never sold as much as Madonna or Michael Jackson but they are still remembered for their music, and are respected a lot more than the latter artists. I tend to find that what is the most popular with the GP is the least artistic and most basic, if you look at films, the most popular films are dumb action blockbusters made for profit, whereas the most artistic arthouse releases barely make any money at all, yet are so much better. If you're here for mainstream success over music you may as well go and stan for Katy or Miley, watching all of Gaga's recent interviews it has become so clear that she cares more about her artistry than how it does on the charts. Also, I dont know why you lot are worrying when her album is a good 20 places ahead of PRISM on the Amazon annual chart, she had 100k preorders and most of her sales are going to come from the physical copies considering she has tweeted about the foil cover and now the golden tickets. It seems that HDD isnt ALWAYS right in their predictions. So just relax and enjoy the music, if she does in fact sell 250-275k she will have pretty much equalled what Katy and Miley have done, who are considered much bigger stars in the mainstream population. you're wrong... what about ABBA? they were called basic pop in the 70¡s and now they are revered by all critics... and what about the Beatles or Donna Summer? Karl 3,419
you're wrong... what about ABBA? they were called basic pop in the 70¡s and now they are revered by all critics... and what about the Beatles or Donna Summer? Of course there are exceptions, but im saying as a general rule you find that the more popular something is the less artistic credibility it has. Especially these days, I think when ABBA and The Beatles were around popular culture was in a very different place.
brizoda 3,856
Its true though, look at all of the popular art forms: Blockbuster Hollywood films, Pop Music, trashy television. The mainstream public enjoy basic entertainment and art because they don't have to think about it or a--lyse it, therefore making the majority of mainstream or popular media the most basic and easy to digest. When Gaga was at her peak with The Fame and the Fame Monster she was making quirky pop music with quirky videos, that was still easy to digest, the first backlash came from the Alejandro video where she actually began to make artisitic statements and take her visuals to new places that need to be a--lysed to be understood. Then came Born This Way which was successful but lost her a lot of 'GP' support through the visuals and some of the music, most noticably the more experimental songs (for pop radio) like Marry the Night and Born This Way. The facts suggest that the general public just arent here for anyone who tries to make statements or create deep and meaningful art, therefore they no longer have interest in Gaga, and im fine with that. Alejandro it's not more artistic, it's more dark... dark is not the same than artistic, lighter could be very artistic, this is the same way of thinking tan rockers or hip-hop fans, they're so wrong

I know they are but my point was that Grace Jones and Bowie are just as respected but had a MUCH lower rate of sale
