nativenewyorker 1,190
The meltdowns...Let's just wait and see what happens. I can't believe so many people here are actually thinking her career's over because of this.
Alchemist 0
she could've booked at least one spot on TV this week though
Glow 0
TBH who cares? How does "flopping" change the music? It doesn't. I think it may be good for some of you to experience a "flop" I see the way some of you act i care. i want her to be a force in pop music. how is she going to be a force in pop music if she has THOSE numbers? some of us here actually care about her career. Allison M 357
Who cares.... Those people that didn't get it are missing out and it will just allow her to be closer with the real die-hards. And she may not get 1.1 million in her first week, but whose to say that those sales wont come throughout the era? I mean, how did TF debut? And how well has it sold now? First week sales really aren't that important. I think ARTPOP will have longevity and people will think to buy it months from now whereas BTW dropped off. She already is a force in pop music whether these number are good or not. We care about her career. And with how many die-hard fans she has, she will always be successful. Nobody knew she existed when TF debuted and look at how well it has done now. First week sales don't matter. She will still sell a lot throughout the era
Alchemist 0
who promotes anymore no marketing plan for this era also you cannot compare TF's opening week to ARTPOP's Edited November 14, 2013 by PEPSICOLA
Allison M 357
no marketing plan for this era also you cannot compare TF's opening week to ARTPOP's I was making a point that first week sales don't matter because the album can still sell just as well in the long run. monstereo 1,232
Except Gaga's fanbase grew during TF era and that's why her sales grew. She started with NOTHING and became big. During ARTPOP Gaga already had everything - big fanbase, the power, and reputation. They're two diffrent situations. freebit 6,228
Do you guys not remember that her best work TFM charted at number 5? And was at the time allegedly outsold by Adam Lambert? And she had all those TF era hits under her belt? BTW is not going to happen again. Troy Carter said it was purposefully marketed like a summer blockbuster. I don't think Gaga likes or wants that type of promotion anymore. It's disappointing for sure, but the meltdowns about this are getting to be too much.
