I just don't know whose fault is it-Interscope's? for not booking enough promo and pushing Gaga to do it or Gaga's? for being too stubborn about art and wanting to do other things... Each pre-ordered copy brings in 1,6 extra sales during the week, while we thought she would get over 2 sold copies for every pre-ordered copy easily. Maybe she didn't want "corporate sponsorship" ruining the integrity of the "art", and it led to a big fight with interscope and now she's not cooperating. The Howard interview made me feel she's really mad at her label. But she can't be so ignorant to deny the fact that promotion is the only way to spread the music to the wider audience. And that's what she made this album for, right? For people to listen to the music. And not doing anything to let people know she has a new album out doesn't make much sense. There're some exceptions, most notably when the music is so good it doesn't need any promo and speaks for itself, but it's not the case of ARTPOP. After all, the situation doesn't look that scary. She has SNL, AMAs and that Muppet Special. Probably she has something lined up for the UK during her visit for the Jingle Bell Ball, and I have a strong feeling she is gonna be in Japan for Christmas and Australia in February Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
