Entertainment Weekly review ARTPOP

To me the artistry is more in the lyrics, which may seem like typical pop fare except they're used by Gaga as authentic self expression and there's bits in almost every song that go against a straightforward interpretation and introduce ambiguity, discomfort, or layers of subtext.

Along with the frankly epic music, I completely agree with this.

From EW, a B is good. You rarely EVER see anything more than an A- for their music reviews.

Its my go-to magazine when I use the toilet.

this. People don't understand the meaning of ARTPOP. What do they expect? Her singing about the mona lisa or something? :wtf:

Who so you wanna paint this Spring?

Who do you think is the new thing?

Who do you wanna make an icon?

MONA LISAAAAA

I like how if any review is somewhat negative, this site automatically attacks them and calls them a nobody.

This review is honestly very accurate, and I strongly agree with it. This is a good album, but it doesn't sound like "the future," and it doesn't show that much of a musical evolution for her. It very much has a been there done that vibe.

YES. DWUW is the perfect example. Lots of people  outside the fanbase think it's a submissive statement of Gaga telling a man to use her as he pleases, when it's actually directed to the media as a way of saying ''through your articles and pictures of me you can all only have is the image, the icon, the representation of my body but you can't have my ideas or my heart because I keep them.

I'm confused why people are saying the music isn't forward thinking enough or experimental enough. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think that was the point of the album at all. It was to take Pop music and meld it together with art culture through fashion, technology, visuals, performances, etc. . Not to make the music itself extremely artsy and experimental. That would be the opposite idea of ARTPOP. Just my thought not saying anyone is wrong.

And why does EW give a **** about art? :pukey: They're the epitome of pop culture. You'd think they'd be a little more appreciative.

EW? Art? They no nothing of art. Opinion = invalid.

I have heard 80% of the album and I love all of it!!!

ARTPOP, the track, is a love song from the future. Girl, bye.

That guy did not know what he was talking about. An obviously rushed and superficial review. Where is the justice when Bangerz gets an A- grade and ARTPOP a mere B?
