I think the thing about that though is people imagine that never being a possibility despite it being so prevalent in society. It's a final way out of something. Think about Kurt Cobain, that dude from Mili Vanilli. (those are the only examples I can think of off the cuff) Being in the public eye, and signed to a life-long contract with a record company is an endless trap. When things go wrong you can't just turn it off. That's why Gaga smoked weed, that's why the song MJH exists. When she smoked weed she didn't feel famous. Well, she quit smoking, so now what? Yeah she said in many interviews that she quit and that it's surprisingly addictive. I mean, obviously she could have started up again for whatever reason. EDIT: I'm not saying that I think she's using d--gs harder than weed. I'm just taking her well-known history into account along with what appears to be sadness and wondering how she's coping with it all. I'm just concerned. Well, she quit smoking, so now what? yes, life is hard for lay folk and celebrities alike. doesn't warrant bringing up suicide. she isn't tweeting and she painted a picture. it's such a callous thing to suggest suicide as if you're romanticising her every move. if it were me i'd be extremely insulted. No, as far as I remember she states that it's pretty addictive so she smokes less (anyway, she contradicts herself every time, so I don't think it'd be a proof even if she said she quit). And to be honest, I think she not only smokes, but is on harder d--gs too. I don't mean constantly, but the way she acts sometimes is not normal. Why does good lyrics and appealing vocals somehow equal 'vapid'? Are songs like Dance In The Dark, So Happy I Could Die shallow/vapid? To me, they are good, quality pop songs that are appealing in all aspects (lyrically, vocally, melodically, production-wise), yet not at all generic. Some people want that back, songs that are flawless all the way, not just 'ooh good chorus, awful verses' or 'good melody, awful lyrics' or 'stunning song, but the vocals ' etc, nothing to do with wanting 'safe' shallow/vapid music. Although that this time we know she was spending her holidays with Taylor in Lancaster (going to the restaurants, cinema etc) and with her family in New York to just enjoy her time off with her loved ones...something she deserved and needed. Not saying you're wrong but it's just because this time we know what she was actually doing when having this so called "twitter vacation". I don't think that every time Gaga doesn't tweet for some time means that the girl doesn't have anything else to do than to be depressed and smoke, she has her personal life also and a lot of behind the scenes work like every other artist. If something feels off, I can admit it like I did in this thread... but going further than that, especially into such sensitive topics, just seems distasteful to me. I was just taking a lot of her behaviours to extremes to kind of make a point. I really do hope she's having an amazing holiday and that things are going well.
