I'm primarily a fan of how she helps people and tries to change the world for the better. Of course I love her music and her art, but I think the other things are more important. So from the perspective of someone who doesn’t know much about the music industry, it seems to me that Gaga has had to try to work in this era in an environment of hate. Critics hating on her from the start, MTV seems to be out to get her, snubbed by the Grammys, many of her own fans against her, betrayals of her art by her manager and others, the era off to a bad start because of leaks messing up the timing with the promos, etc. How do you put yourself in a creative mindset in such an awful environment. So I look at the blackout in a different way. I think she is trying to recover from all this and restart the era, and it's an awful lot of work. That's just my thought. One more thought ... I trace it all back to the leak of Applause. If it could have been released with all of its carefully planned promo, it may have slayed more than Roar. If so, she would have been the darling of the critics, the media, everyone. But no, she had to move it up to try to salvage something, and then she gets blamed for trying to steal Katy's thunder. Blamed, even though that's not the kind of person Gaga is. So the era was off to a bad start right from the beginning. Remember Gaga's words when the leak first came to light? She should've shown up to the Grammy's with a gorgeous outfit like she's been showing up at other events. She should've performed. She should've put out a DWUW video regardless of her creative vision. Just because she has way more artistic integrity than other artists doesn't mean she gets to put pause on an era with this much potential. I understand the blame isn't entirely on her but she seems incredibly stubborn when her label doesn't let her do what she wants (no pun intended). In the end, they're the ones who made her so if they say no to the DWUW video, she needs to tone it down or come up with another idea (which she is perfectly capable of) and put it out, instead of having a media blackout and excluding herself from major events in the industry. The video looked tacky anyway. You don't show up and perform if you aren't invited to perform! When are people going to get this simple concept? Gaga wasn't nominated. She wasn't asked to perform. That's all there is to it. On the video situation, you posted a bunch of speculations that you've made up in your mind. There isn't a single fan here who has any idea of what happened behind the scenes and why the video isn't released. Gaga isn't going to tell us the details of all the behind the scenes problems she is dealing with. She is being a professional. This is big business. There is a major label she has to work with and management restructuring that is going on, not to mention the nagging lawsuit she is dealing with. These are major real world business dealings- not a decision about what classes you are going to take next semester. She'd make public appearances, released STACHE or whatever, but nothing like an era. This one started so awesome... I do hope she continues and hasn't given up. Lion Heart 15,041 Posted January 28, 2014 Share Posted January 28, 2014 Not only does the video for DWUW have yet to surface but her team (or her??) have decided to skip one of the biggest platform's of promotion for global success by passing on the chance to perform/promote ARTPOP on the recent GRAMMY awards ceremony. The thing is... we really don't know what's going on backstage, and let's not forget that she wasn't even nominated for anything this year so it doesn't make any sense for her to perform- never mind show up to the Grammy awards ceremony. Only those who are nominated, and or legends are asked to perform- and this has been said several times already. However, I completely understand the frustration over the DWUW music video. But if the rumors are to be believed, then looks like Troy/ her management really did shut down the music video, and so after having the original Applause performance at the VMAs scrapped by MTV, after having the Venus single era replaced with DWUW and it's video potentially(?) scrapped, and again after the powers that be preventing the DWUW video from getting released, honestly I can see why Gaga would be so heart-broken; her original vision for the era has been stopped by others in power. ▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀ Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Again, she was not nominated for anything this year, and only those who are nominated and/ or legends are the ones who get to perform, so her performing there would't make any sense. What they WOULD do is stop her from releasing a raunchy video with a s-xual offender who's been receiving plenty of bad press lately, and judging by that screenshot we got, it was certainly going to be raunchy. It's possible this was an instrumental someone brought in and she was trying out various melodies. Maybe she wrote the track and ended up ditching the melody but liking the instrumental. Being that this is a leaked track with no acknowledgement of its existence from Gaga, I doubt we'll ever know. i just got the feeling that sometimes was an early demo of the song. the vocals were poorly recorded and obviously very rough and she worked on them and finished the song for the album. the same thing happened with the fame (song). i don't think it's the same situation as donatella. in the case of sometimes and the fame, the alternate, early versions are still sung by gaga and not someone else unlike this one. Official sources, my ass. You pieced a whole bunch of crap you've heard at ATRL and from random trolls together, and made up a story in your head.
