I think 35-50 is actually the age group of the seasoned bitter Madonna fan you're referring to

I agree. I'm 25 and all my mid 20s friends who are gaga fans have been fans from the beginning, myself included. I like Madonna when I was younger, but I clearly prefer gaga.

Straights scared away because BTW is too... supportive f gay, they felt left out.

Some Gays scared away because the don't need these kind of doting.

They rather throw away Gaga than getting teased cos listening the Apostle of LGBTQ.

And some because they are in closet case.

Either way, both party scared away because of the possibility of labels will be put on them.

Definitely not Madonna's fault.

This, except I think the Madonna thing hurt her too, just not as much.

In what universe is she "defeated?" Some people here have INSANE demands from her, chart-wise. It is literally impossible to be on top all the time, and that's FINE. If selling 200K+ in the first week and 2 (3 with DWUW, likely) songs on the top ten of billboard hot 100 3 months after the release of ARTPOP is "defeat" then there is literally no satisfying you. Why must people here, of all places, play in to the narrative, crafted entirely by the media, that she's failing?  It's infuriating!

Deleted after that intro. So no, never.

Maybe my expectations were wrong but I expected vids for the songs and some sort of interaction with it.

No, I had the same expectations. If it had been released without any notice, then it would have been a good addition. But it was promoted and hyped too much.

Why do you people act like they know what is going to be a hit or not? No one knows for sure what songs will become a hit because the GP is not as predictable as you think they are. People here are saying "Venus won't be a hit because the lyrics are too cheesy and she is naming the planets", and yet a song about what a fox says became a hit. Or who would have thought a song like Just Dance would become a hit when urban music was at the top? Or why did ballads (Adele's) became hits when everyoneone was into house/dubstep influenced pop songs? Or why did disco/70s influenced songs became a trend out of nowhere?

No one can predict a hit, that is true, but you can make some assumptions based on lyrics (for the gp, for the radio), timing and production etc...
