Oh my god could people stop with the word 'retard'?

Stop being so dramatic (not pointing at you, in general) !

The intentions behind bad things are not always bad. It dones't justifies her behaviour at all. My point is that she was bragging about how happy she was instead of just saying that she's fine, she didn't have to get into it as deep and focus on the music instead maybe? But no, gaga chooses to expose another one of her lies, since she went as far as saying that she was miserable and in a really bad place while promoting BTW, which was the exact opposite of what she was preaching during that era. Awful

I literally said that it didn't justify lying. I understand where you're coming from and that it's frustrating, but I personally try to show understanding to the fact that it seems like she was just trying to keep everyone happy, and as things seemingly started to fall apart, she felt the need to confess that everything wasn't fine and dandy. She felt she owed an explanation and apology. Sorry, but I don't find that unforgivable.

:wtf: no need to go that far

Have you ever considered that maybe she started off happy then things went downhill? Or are you just looking for a reason to crucify her and name-call?

There are other possibilities besides the ones you mentioned.

I don't feel any artist is in 100% control of anything when you're at her level. She has more control than most (as in she has a ton of control when it comes to the material that makes her albums, the sound, etc) but when it comes time to actually put the album out and we're dealing with videos, singles, scheduling, etc she probably has lesser control over some of those things.

As far as the lying goes....well, I know it's already been said but she IS human. Not really sure how you can judge her as a person over it. Can anybody say they've truely never lied? I highly doubt it! At the end of the day she isn't our BFF, sister, or mother (lol no pun intented) so it is what it is. I think she is as close to the fans and does as much for us as she can. She treats her fans better than almost any other artist at her level so we still have to give her props for that. Shes in a position where she can't really tell us the truth about everything without exposing other people in the process. She's a major label artist and you can't just go around doing things like that as if she's some indie nobody. Obviously there's a lot that goes on behind the scenes when we're talking about any major name in the business. I think Gaga is one of the most honest so again props to her for that, she's not in the position to tell us absoutely everything. Also her thoughts in feelings can change. She can feel one way when she's in the moment than a whole different way when she's looking back at a situation. Hindsight is 20/20. I believe she idealizes situations pre-album release because she truly is happy and joyous when she's performing and putting out material for us so she is actually in a great frame of mind during those times.

That's what Chelsea Lately is about though. They're always talking trash in that "news/joke table". Chelsea actually defends Gaga better than one would expect from her show.

I think she's hurt that her album didn't met her expectations because she talked with so much passion about ARTPOP before it was released and now that people paid it dust she just lost it.  But it's her fault, if she wants to be successful again she should let go of the 'art' thing because people (even some of her fans including me) are not here for it and focus on the music more like she did during TF/TFM, or she should just deal with underperforming if she loves art so much because it's better to do what your heart feels to do. After all it's her decision and whatever her decision is I hope it will make her happy.

Worst: Fashion!

Best: I can't decide. It's a tie between Gypsy, GUY, Dope, and MANiCURE.

I think that maybe things changed for her very quickly over the course of the album launch period. I think she was genuinely very excited and positive at the start and that she was feeling 110% but due to a shake-up and maybe some revelatory experience, she came crashing down.

The sales of ARTPOP must have shook confidence a little, not to mention the relentless dragging in and out of the fan base. She really threw all of herself into this, I think, which made her more vulnerable.

Have you forgotten who Gaga is?

Iconic line from The Monster Ball:

"In fact, I hate the truth so much, I'd prefer a giant dose of bull**** any day over the truth"

^That's when I knew not to take her or anything she says too seriously. I mean, c'mon. This is a girl who from the start has said "I'm not real, I'm theater." It's one of things that originally, and continues to intrigue me about her.

I do think she's genuine about the causes she's into (LGBT, bullying, that Arizona racial profiling debacle etc), but other than that no matter what she says otherwise, Lady Gaga is a persona IMO. That said, I do believe these recent sad postings have been more along the lines of the real her, but between how she likes to front and how insecure she probably feels IRL I'm not surprised at the discrepancies that happen. She's always given me IRL Jem/Black Swan teas from the beginning tbh.

I mean, firstly she's not my parent. She's a singer who I enjoy and buy music from. If she were my parent, then yeah maybe I would believe everything she says. But that's where it ends. I'm not buying anything else but her music. It's not like Gaga is not selling me an organ that I'll need to survive. I've learned from the past years not to listen to Gaga's explanation for her albums/music. I avoid all her interviews when she talks about her latest albums and I just sit down and listen to it and decide for myself, then I buy it if I like it. She tends to go off the rails when explaining a simple album. But that's her. I can't stop her from talking about Warholian experiences and such nonsense.

But I understand why there's so many people who fall for what she says and get disappointed in the long run. She has many young and naïve fans so obviously they may rally up and believe everything they're promised.

Well said. :applause: I'm agreeing with you all over this post.

Anyway, none of my faves are perfect, and yes, some others have even been caught in a lie like Miss Stefani, but if I was only a fan of perfect people my music library would be empty. These people are human and have flaws, it doesn't excuse them, but while I'm often fascinated with the artist, ultimately the music will always be the main factor (to me).
