There's many that depend on her for employment (tour managers, road managers, dancers, assistants, choreographers, and in Gaga's case, the Haus and Tech Haus), and whether she succeeds or not is a major factor in all of this. She's still in her 20s, never finished college, and it all rests on her shoulders. I imagine now that Troy is gone it's probably shaken the foundation some. And during all of this she appears to be trying to steer clear of hard d--gs. Also, who knows what went on during that period where we heard nothing from her. I honestly think she's burned out atm, and probably depressed and stressed out, thus we get these strange posts. From the way things turned out she probably should have waited a bit before starting the ARTPOP era IMO, but then again, there's the scare of being ~forgotten these days (for example, I saw a thread on ATRL today debating on whether Nicki Minaj was still "relevant"). Interscope wanting a more radio friendly sound (was this ever explicitly confirmed?), lack of dependability in delivering her projects to the public... 2013 hasn't been a good year. She's way too consumed by what the internet and her fans say about her, and also takes silly stanning culture too seriously. And the massive decline in sales and respect obviously This is so true. I feel like she thinks that some of her super hard core fans don't have a life outside of stanning for her, and maybe this is true, but its strange how she thinks its normal and ok. The verses used to be wild and untamed and when the chorus kicked in, it was more enjoyable because there was such a huge contrast. The whole song made more sense and just sounded better as a whole. I guess if we never had the demo, then we would all love it to bits. Because, as you already mentioned, the chorus is gigantic and one of her best. Though it does sound like Dance in the Dark. She said once awhile ago that if her father said something like, "Your stuff is no good"- that it would have killed her, but for anyone else, she doesn't care what they think. Could that have been a screen for her feelings, that if she believed that enough, she'd really feel that strong? Or was that once her true outlook, but now, has changed it? If so, what made her change? Many, many artists (if not all) have had highs and lows in their careers and have been troubled and tortured in some form. I imagine it's mostly something internally going on - something that is keeping her vision from being brought to the forefront. She would hate that to happen. I hope things get worked out soon and that d--gs or other dangerous coping mechanisms don't come into play. I hope she knows, if she gets through whatever this is, without certain "help" she'll be stronger for next time and the better for it. If she does consider her fans part of her family, how would we feel if we tried something new and different and every day, our family told us we sucked, for lack of a better term? That would be a devastating thing to face day in and day out. It doesn't matter how much wealth we may have, negativity takes its ugly toll, and no amt. of money can protect our inner feelings.
