GagaMyBlood95 9,915
Well, I believe people can change! And then, he is a great musician, an R&B legend... Why would she NOT work with him? I mean, come on..
Red 97,985
Sorry, but your view is immature and irrational. And you are so mature losing sleep about a pop song :ohwell: If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.
Miel 15,009
And why she did recorded Swine ? I'm pretty sure there's a limit to her whole 'not judging' mentality. In fact, I think a lot of her base mentality is message is far from that, also- like in Swine, she's called people out on their ****. Swine is ultimately a catharsis for her, calling out the people who used her and made her feel like trash. Viscerally it is judgment, but honestly I don't think it's wrong. Her mentality isn't 'don't judge people no, matter what'-at least not to me. 3 points in and ready for more

JoeMo 3,860
The thing about R Kelly that I don't understand is - he's completely GUILTY. He got out of everything because of a technicality - i.e. they didn't have a warrant to search his home. So despite finding concrete evidence of criminal activity, he's walking around as a free man. The thing that annoys me the most about R Kelly is - okay, he completely denies doing what he did yet he releases such s-xual material. "I'M NOT A SEXUAL PREDATOR" yet his new album is entitled "Black Panties". I'm COMPLETELY for expressing s-xuality in music, especially RnB and Pop, but WHY WHY WHY, after the allegations made against you in the past in your words "aren't true" (thus DWUW) - WHY do you want the public to see you as a s-xual predator in your music?! It would probably be okay if the allegations weren't true - using s-x in his music could be like a "**** you, I'm not changing my life because of false allegations, this is who I am" la la la but HE IS GUILTY and if you believe otherwise you are delusional. I personally just think it's completely inappropriate. TBH I was completely ignorant of this situation before Gaga worked with him and I hope she was too, and I hope that's why she is reluctant to put out the music video. It was a bad move on her part, she should have used Christina for the song from the start. I'm not bashing Gaga - I'm bashing him. www.youtube.com/jmremixes
Miel 15,009
And you are so mature losing sleep about a pop song It's not the fact that it's a simple pop song that people are griping about; it's the implications and context surrounding it. It's a powerful and deep song about body image, consent, and s-xuality; having a singer on it with previous allegations of inappropriate s-xual conduct kind of creates a weird hypocrisy in the song's bones (I wasn't personally bothered, but tbh I totally get why other people would be). Gaga said that she got Kelly in the song in the context of media destruction. There, it works and it works great in context. In the context of s-xual consent and the general s-xual theme, however, it's kind of awkward. 3 points in and ready for more

Cause in all the ones I've seen she says she randomly putting him there cause he is an RnB legend who lives in Chicago and she happened to be there when she recorded it. Period. My point is that she is just caring about his voice and what he has to offer as an artist. It is not like she is making a song about pedophilia as a good thing as you guys make it sound. Why is it so difficult to just enjoy the song without caring about the singer's personal life?? If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating. sub 1
This. But I'm sure it was a conscious decision to link him with the "do what you want with my body" theme in order to spark some controversy too. I don't like it and it's disgusting when it was her intention. I can't understand Gaga sometimes. It's just cold when it was planned. She calls herself godess of love......maybe she should understand what real love is, it's not only to think about yourself. I'm all about to forgive. But why the hell she must do a song with this title and put R.Kelly in the song. I will never understand it and it leaves Gaga in a light which is very creepy and cold. Whispering 18,865
Gaga separated the art from the artist, which is what many people do, including a long list of other artists who have collaborated with R Kelly, Chris Brown or a long list of artists. Radio PDs and Grammy voters do the same thing when they play songs or nominate certain artists. Gaga has admired R Kelly's R&B songs for years, so she wanted to collaborate with an artist whose WORK she admired. R Kelly is an extremely talented R&B legend, and his music is still well respected, especially in certain communities or on certain formats.
