The problem here is Gaga, she's so lazy and she is always wanting to do everything by her own, that's not bad but, pls katy has worst songs but with her team makes eveyone #1, i know that's not important but, she's not the TF/TFM Gaga anymore.

The decisions sell the brand though and we are talking about huge decisions here, don't focus just on the manager. Its obvious that these last two Era's Gagas team has done one mistake after the other. Both eras are heavily damaged.

Look, I thought with Born This Way - the era wasn't that poorly handled. The Madonna comparisons were fuelled by the media and it was something out of Gaga+Co.'s control. I think releasing 'Judas' as a single was not a mistake - it was just unfortunate that music video channels/radio avoided playing it because of it's religious content. TEOG should've been the second single. But it was hugely successful as the 3rd single regardless of it's video. The generally public gave zero f*cks about the video that was planned. I thought releasing You & I/MTN was fine.. sure they were 'different' to what people were used to but they didn't damage her image/reputation or anything.. they just didn't catch on. Promotion was immense for both songs.

With ARTPOP.. problems are more obvious. Firstly, the whole 'Applause' Era was forced by her label. We all know that - she's made it clear. It's not to say it wasn't successful (it really was to be honest) - but from what she said, she was restricted creatively for that song in terms of video/performances. It was all very 'safe'.. and clearly she didn't want that. DWUW was her first total mess IMO. The song is phenomenal. The video didn't happen (even though it's been filmed?) and she hastily released the song as a single because people 'jumped' on it.. more like pre-orders made it peak in 5 seconds, and then it just dropped. It's why I can't understand why promo singles still happen for artists like Gaga. They kill all hype. She's recovered well in the sense that she's made some professional changes for the better, and has come back with GUY/a new video. The Tour could not have come at a better time. Plus, she's got the Tony Bennett Album coming up (it will serve her well) and the second act of ARTPOP, which brings new material. I guess if GUY doesn't take off at all - she'll have to move on to Act 2. That said, ARTPOP went #1 and she's rolled with the punches.

I don't say that thinks can't be saved or anything or that BTW wasn't very successful but they weren't nearly as successful as they could have been if better choices had been made. As for Applause the song, I think its one of Gaga'best songs ever and a very genious pop song. I agree about the Era and DWUW coukd have been a much bigger hit if it was treated right. It didn't happen though so lets just focus on the future, brghter days are comming.

I don't think it was just BTW's planning that made it a mess -- it was her image. She made it too dark and alien-like, too weird, even for Gaga standards. TFM was 'weird' to the GP, but in a very artsy way. Her panda look, that pic someone posted in the other page, and the bony "Born This Way" horns look was just odd. Same for the videos... BTW video was way too dark for a song about empowerment. TEOG video sucked so bad, she should've just put her ego aside and carried on with the original video.

People may not realize it, but videos/performances build "loyalty" and like-ness to songs, especially the GP. I have to wonder if Bad Romance would have been as epic as it is without it's killer video. (Same for MJ's Thriller) Also, Gaga's VMA Paparazzi made it go from an okay song to one I love -- probably because I think about her performing it every time I hear it. TEOG and DWUW really could've used better videos.

I wonder if she was on any d--gs when she recorded it because it was really really really bad!

Most HipHop/Rap is terrible nowadays and this is one of the worst i've heard in the past few years which speaks volume.

For an album called ARTPOP, wtf was she thinking putting this sort of song on it? For all her "i'm different from the others" attitude recording a song like this is completely nonsensical.

I would have preferred Cake over this piece of crap song, at least it was funny.

Is that you in the picture? haha so us asian cuties lol  :P

give me that searing hot tea all over my bodeh haha

Harsh but true, unless you think it's a good song tsk

Note this was nothing against Gaga personally, but the song was just that bad.

I agree with dragon. Its just, it doesn't feel cohesive with the whole album musicality. It feels like random cd she picked from her bag haha. it feels... reductive?

haha  :reductive:

its just pandering. it doesnt convince the listener that it should've been made. i like trap, ive gotten into it ever since gaga said she was experimenting with it back in 2012, but it should've been interesting trap. the instrumental just doesnt convince me. also its hardly her song, its like shes a guest spot on her own damn song. and the chorus is just kinda non-sensical, and not that well written.

This was beautifully written! She has done a great job rolling with the punches this era in my opinion. I think her fans need to realize what she is going through happens with every artist. No one is ever at the top all of the time. Every artists' fame levels out eventually, and there's nothing wrong with that. As long as she can keep consistent public interest, a core fanbase, and solid demand for her tours, the rest of her career looks very promising.

My of the entries on that list are only problems if you assume she must always appeal to the widest audience possible with every thing she does. But she doesn't have to pursue that as her goal at all times.

Agree in most but Americano would have been her worst single ever.

R Kelly isn't a big issue tbh and Venus should have never been planed as the second single. DWUW had way more potential than Venus or G.U.Y.

I honestly think its just Gaga has way too much competition now

Katy

Lana

Miley

Adele

Lorde

Plus all the other up and coming acts, Gaga was just pushed to the back burner. It didn't help that she acted so weird during BTW with all that alien crap and how she wanted to create a different race plus the judas thing and horns made people think she was a devil worshiper. That and add a disastrius EOG video that didn't live up to the hype, a long overdrawn Marry The Night video plus a ton of overexposure. Also, Applause should of not been the lead single, it just made her seem egotistical, GUY or Gypsy should of been first single. Just a lot of mistakes were made during BTW/AP. I mean she doesn't care about charts so

What does intelligence have to do with anything? My post didn't have any grammatical errors or any spelling mistakes. I guarantee that my IQ is higher than yours so please do not say that I'm stupid.

Stop focusing on the negatives of her career.

There is no correlation between IQ and intelligence, IQ is not an accurate way to determine if somebody is smart, just if they are good at taking tests.

TF and TFM have just better quality of sound. They still sound fresh, while large chunk of BTW/AP sound dated.

BTW/AP music is heavy and not easy to listen for casual gaga listener. TF/TFM were fun, easy to enjoy and full of infectious rhythm.

Imo, TFM is more artistic then ARTPOP.. :manicure:
