This :manicure:

In terms of lyrics, it's totally comparable to ARTPOP imo

defend dat album :whip:

Jk, lol, but I pretty much agree. I think TF is a bit underrated when it comes to lyrical content. Bluffin' with my muffin and whatnot seem to get a bad rap for sounding cheesy and amateurish, or whatever people might think, but those witty quips are a huge part of what made her work stand out, especially in a pop sense, and TF was filled with them. Even though the music on a surface level appears to be shallow to something like BTW, I think sometimes people underestimate the simple exercise of just writing a hit song - period - and I feel like TF is a great demonstration in her ability to do that.

Also, it seems like ARTPOP with its title and themes seems instantly and blatantly recognizable as art, whereas something like TF sometimes gets slagged for just being a generic pop album (not talking about anyone here or specifically, just in general). But the album itself is art in just the same way and imo achieved its goal much more effectively without having to tell you what it was.

Anyway, you don't really have to reply to all that, just I agree with you and the user you were replying to.

Maybe she could just release it through the ARTPOP app for the fans' sake, and move on to single #3. Start with a clean slate.

I will always defend TF/M  :hor: people seem to forget how good these albums are, just because they're "old".

I totally agree with you. TF is a huge a--lysis of the fame and Gaga genuinely plays with the words in order to share different stories in one song (Paparazzi, Poker Face and Paper Gangsta for example). It's definitely underrated and it's sad, especially because she explained the meanings of each song several times. Plus, she was always trying to reinvent the songs when she had to perform live, giving eventually new ways to understand her works.

To me ARTPOP is a great album, but in terms of artistry it lacks something important imo : Gaga's mark (I can only find it in Venus...). Some people say "Now she does art, before it was commercial" but I don't think that way, especially because of all her performances (each one was different from the others) and also because back in 2008/9 she was really innovative and sometimes risky (today it seems commercial just because of the other artists who used the "Gaga wave").

People will call me a fake fan if I continue to give my opinion about ARTPOP :awkney:

It's not really all that relevant at this point. It's clear that there was some kind of internal issue with the making of the video that somehow strung things up, possibly a nasty internal dispute, but at this point the era for this single has largely passed. We should look forward to what's next.

Leave it to this team to completely botch this single era...one of the most commercially promising she's had in ages. Yikes.

Brown Eyes

It's her second best album. Her lyrics were good, funny and clever and NOT cringe worthy (like the ARTPOP lyrics) and vocals on that album were so good and pleasing to the ear back then, compared to what they have become

Tho it's actually her captivating and intruiging personality and the quality in music videos, performances, looks/fashion from that era that are really missed.
